Need For Speed Dangerous Promotion ?

i know this could be a hot button, but do you think Ford is going down the wrong street with promoting the "need for speed" movie?
as far as i can tell from all the previews it deals with illegal racing and such
and promoting a movie with fast cars with other fast cars is just asking for the wrong perception of the product (2015 mustang)
anyone else concerned?

Need For Speed has been a video game franchise for a decade...if it wasn't an issue with the video games all that time, I don't see why it's an issue now.

This also isn't the first movie to feature street racing.

The Fast and the Furious movies have been an influence far before Need for Speed. I don't see it being a problem. If anything they are late to the party. F&F have been out for years.

Just about any Mustang seen in the movies is guilty (or at least their drivers are) of dangerous driving. Yes, even Lt Frank

ITS A MOVIE BRO! its entertainment. What message is Ford sending? That the mustang is fast. We know the mustang is fast and that's what people love. If anything , the movie will help promote sales of the mustang. Just like the movie Transformers helped with the sales in Camaro's and popularity.

Ok, since I've never seen any of the f&f movies nor play video games. I'm a little behind times. Guess I was thinking worse case.

I think it's a huge problem. They ought to make a law that everyone has to wear seatbelts and drive the speed limit in movies.

As a matter of fact they should also take the environment seriously and reduce their carbon foot print. Hollywood is killing the planet!!!! All cars should at least get 34 mpg for 2016 CAFE standards. Lead by example Hollywood. Maybe a bicycle now and then.

You know, if Hollywood was stuck making movies with responsible driving, responsible gun owners, responsible drinking and drug use, etc...maybe they'd stop voting for those jack ***** in California office that keep making these ridiculous laws. They get SOOO upset when someone gets shot, and they make sure and tell everyone about their feelings at their movie premier of a movie where everyone gets shot in the face. Anything to make a buck, I guess.

If anything I think it would be on the positive side of promoting the vehicle. In contrast would you really not buy the car because it was in the NFS movie?

No. Street racing has been around before these movies and video games. I've had the need for speed and racing bug long before these types of movies and having a mustang.

Do you think the new RoboCop movie will have a negative impact on tourism in Detroit? lol

I don't see this movie having a negative impact on Mustang sales. Transformers seemed to help Camaro sales take off IIRC
