Hennesseys 717hp Mustang
Looks real nice. Way better than the Roush plastic add on version.

I don't understand why people are continually comparing the new 2015 GT to the hellcat and other higher end muscle cars. The GT mustang was never made to compete with them. Of course there is going to be a difference in performance when you compare a NA 5.0 V8 to a Supercharged 6.2 V8.

Don't get too worked up this is just a photoshop/render. Doesn't mean its going to be final.
also the numbers from that article don't seem to add up to me. 717bhp only running 11.2 in the 1/4? The 5.0 ford tested with the Blower did 10's.

Yeah,.....I would buy it, but it's a limited edition, so it might be "doable". I think this car looks best so far and the numbers are pretty impressive.
Plus,...I really, really like the hell kitty. It's still got gobs more horsepower and torque.

So is it safe to assume that this car will have the Ford Racing SRA that we have heard so much about?
We have no specs on the heavy duty halfshafts that Ford is apparenly offering but I suspect that 717hp is asking alot for an IRS that's not originally designed for that power level.
Then again, the Hellcats seem up to the task.

Whether live axle or IRS, it ultimately comes down to proper engineering and I see no evidence yet that the Stang's IRS is insufficiently designed for drag duty, especially with the HD axle shafts.
Now, if the 2015s start spitting axle quarter shafts out the stern...
