The GT350 design is interesting, and different, but I'm just playing devil's advocate here. The SS standard brakes are 4-piston. But the optional brake package is pretty much straight from the Z/28. That's nothing to sneeze at, and it's still better than the PP brake package for the standard GTs.
Iron rotors on the Brembo brake package for the SS (IIRC my GM buddy says its called that and includes some aero bits)? The Z/28 uses CCB's which IIRC are 2500 bucks retail a rotor if you mess them up.
As for braking performance that's more a function of grip rather than the number of pistons a brake system has. Ford really needs to crap can the Pirelli's they aren't worth the few dollars they are saving compared to the better rubber being offered on the SS.
Then again Ford has different priorities its seems when it comes to their performance cars which may or may not be a good thing. The GT350's Michelin Pilot Super Sports are optimized for wet traction which on 07-09 GT500's compromised road holding when they spec'd out a rain tire with the Goodyear F1 Supercar tires.
In any event I really like GM's package, its a helluva deal but the styling is a deal breaker. I'd rather they had evolved the styling maybe more along the lines of the 70-73 cars.
I had to suffer through the Camaro Craft, Hot Camaro, Popular Camaro years when it came to the major rags when almost every **** issue featured a '69 Camaro in some way shape or form so in my eyes its tired styling plus I still don't care for the interior on the new car.
The F5 Z/28 is compelling enough with its big cube LS7 motor. Its a shame GM cannot keep producing the LS7 in LT form. What a fantastic engine that would have been.

Interesting debate. Thought the front page would think so too...

I recently purchased a 2016 Roush RS3. The purchasing price was very reasonable and the car is loaded. I was not happy with the handling of the car, and that is normal, because of the tremendous horsepower. So I enhanced the rear suspension and I saw a tremendous difference in handling. cornering and acceleration. The Ford mechanic told me, with this adjustment the RS3 can smash the GT350 by far. Feel free to Contact me if you have any questions.

Gt350. What many are not talking about in building a GT to hang is BRAKES. The GT350 brakes are good. REAL good. to put a setup like that on a GT is going to cost. Also the front tire on a r is 305. on a GT350 its 295. It has a wider front end that normal Mustangs. Whats the biggest you can get on a GT up front without modding ? 275 ? There is a lot more to this than power. BTW, you can always add power. Add a TT kit to a 350 and its good. All day long. And you do not even have to turn it up.
The others ? S/C = HEATSOAK. sure your good for a lap or so, but what happens after ? Like I said...more to it than power.

I don't do neither, but I love both cars.
