I just read Ford has announced they will have a global premiere of a new concept car on April 20, at the China Auto Show. Perhaps we will see a glimpse of the the new Mustang.

 

Maybe but could be anything. Doubt they would show show anything Mustang related in China.

Should be on American soil.

I just can't see the Mustang being released in China as the new "global concept"..
unless they're really trying to butter them up that much..

 

I wouldn't count on it, as there are no plans to offer the new Mustang outside of North America with the exception of Europe, Australia and South America !

 

I never heard of Ford releasing it to Australia. There no official announcement by Ford - What I read its only for Europe? & UK.

 

I'm just assumimg that Australia would also be included, being as they are part of the UK as a colony.. But if what you read in the official announcement is for Europe and the UK only ? Then I'll also go by the official Ford announcement at this time as well.. At any rate, it appears that South America will also not be included either

well they're already being sold in the Philippines.. so china doesn't seem like such a stretch

 

I did google search- Australia is never mention by Ford co. but some Australian journalist just assume since the Mustang will be offered in UK officially in 2015/16.

But the current 2013 Mustang is currently sold officially by Ford in Philippines, Taiwan & Japan(Left Hand Drive model - Japan is a RHD country).

 

Yep- Philippines is a Left hand drive country like US & most countries. So it's easy to sell the stang there. Philippines economy is growing at a fast pace. I heard they sold 135 units in 2012. The V6 model starts at 75k USD

 

After reading the media article you posted ! No it really doesn't seem too far fetched at all.. But you would think if a concept version of the next Mustang is going to be revealed ? It would most definitely take place right here in the U.S and not China lol.

 

Yea. Mustang is an American Icon so it will be revealed in America. I wouldn't be surprised if the next gen mustang will be offered in China officially. I've read an article the Camaro sales in China is doing good. Most Camaro in China is a V6 model & comes in yellow with black stripes

 

It really wouldn't surprise me either.. Heck if it's already being sold in the Philippines and with Camaro being sold in China, it's only a matter of time before Ford will also follow suit with the Mustang

I wouldn't surprised if they release a fastback design concept that will be shared by mustang and lincoln.

 

Now that I would like to see, as it would be a first for Lincoln to offer a fastback sports coupe and the first full fastback for Mustang since 73.. Hopefully we'll find out soon enough lol.
