Favorite 2015 options or features (a review within a review)

What are your favorite 2015 Mustang options or features?

- Memory Seats: I really like the fact that the driver seat move you back away from the steering wheel when you power off the car. It makes it easier to get out, and entry to car is easier too. On the pre-2015, it was very hard to get into the seat without rubbing against the left side seat bolster, which caused unnecessary wearing on that area of the seat.

- Shaker Audio (401A) : This is a very good factory audio system, super clear, no clipping or distortion, and a good amount of adjustable bass levels.

- Suspension: I just find myself laughing every time I'm about to wince where my pre-2015 Mustangs would kick me in the kidneys. The new chassis, suspension, and IRS just completely deal with it. No more bucking bronco sensations, side-to-side rocking, no harsh hops or chops, no excessive suspension travel. For example, rolling over a rail-road crossing at 30 mph in my 2014 GT felt like someone was trying to yank the rear axle out from under the car, now at 35 mph, it just feels like a little bump in the road, amazing for a Mustang. Going into a high speed turn (over legal speeds) the car just feels very planted and stable. Lastly, no more brake dive or boat like launches with the nose high/rear low.

- Brakes (15" Brembo): No more squishy brake pedal. Every Mustang I've ever owned (eleven different Mustangs ranging from year models 1980 to 2014) has never had proper brake pedal feedback for a confidence inspiring feeling. The 2015 car and 15" Brembo's are awesome. At no time have I ever felt like the brakes didn't have enough braking power or response.

- Cup holders: I know, seems so innocuous and silly, but it's nice to be able to hold two large drinks in the cup holder and still shift the car without needing to contort your arm, wrist, and hand. Additionally, there are some soft rubber inserts in the cup holder to assist in retaining your beverage of choice. If you've driven a manual Mustang before, you know what I mean on all accounts. The worst feeling is having a drink tip over because you accelerated, turned, or braked too hard. Makes you wonder if these engineers ever actually drive cars, because if they did, this would have been done correctly 17-years ago in 1998 when cup holders first appeared on Mustangs.

Thanks for your thoughts. Your not really supposed to have beverages in a race car. I think they call them cup holders but they are really for holding your change.

I do too but if I am going to be accelerating, turning, or braking hard I do not have a drink with me. I know what you mean and I was partially kidding in my first post and in this one as well.

I would love to have the memory seats. I am always so worried about the leather wearing out on the driver seat. I feel like a monkey trying to get in the car trying not to rub against the bolster.

I have to say my favorite option is the Performance Package. The suspension is so well sorted, brakes are awesome, center gauges, strut bracing, staggered wheels\tires and even the exaggerated front splitter plus larger radiator etc. - unbeatable for the price.

I just also realized after watching a video that there is a sunglass holder in the dash

Having only two cup holders is not really enough when me and the miss go for a ride. When they first came out, I was hoping there might be some in the doors too.

Just curious how many miles did you put on the 1990 mustang?

I sold it with about 130k. Stock until 90K then the mods began. Got more cars and trucks over time so it just became a weekend joy ride.

Oh and don't forget the very necessary performance option.... heated and cooled seats in the Premium. They are a nice touch on these cold winter nights and I can't wait to try the cooled seats during the hot summer.

It was about 30 degrees here in Cali, I got into my car last night and wished it had heated seats :-( at least my truck has them :-)

My old F350 (traded in) had heated seats but only for your butt. These are heated up the backs too and so much nicer. F350 would set you on fire and these can be set just right. Sure is nice on mid teen temp days.

My wife can't drive a stick, so I was "forced" into an automatic, but I did opt for the 3.55 gears. Heated/cooled seats, memory seats (3 adjustable settings), shaker audio package, 401A is beautiful...but since I was unable to get the PP, I opted for the 20x9 wheels with 265/35x20 and the wheels are GORGEOUS. I won't even look for other wheels since these make the car SO, SO cool looking.

There was once a time when we called them beer holders.
