Drunk Driver Crashes Into 2015 Mustang And Overturns It
Drunk Driver Crashes Into 2015 Mustang And Overturns It
Feel bad for this guy but at least he didn't get hurt badly.

from the article:
"A drunk driver collided with me at highway speed. I only had my 2015 Mustang GT 8 days when this happened," he wrote in a posting. "Very upsetting but car held up well and I am getting full replacement value for it. My hat goes off to Ford for engineering an extremely safe car that performed well in the crash."

That sucks. It sounds cliche, but walking away is the most important thing.
The damage is serious no doubt....it's what we refer to in the insurance claims biz as a train wreck. I'm glad it's being settled on replacement cost.

I'm also glad nobody was seriously hurt, however I do hope the person who was driving drunk that caused the accident, gets prosecuted to the full extent of the law for their actions !

That will buff righ..... ehh.... never mind.
Anyway, to make myself feel better, I hope the drunk driver dies of the most aggressive cancers there is.

Glad everyone is ok, however it is pretty harsh to wish someone would die of cancer. I hope the drunk driver serves his sentence and learns from his mistake. Just harsh to wish that much negativity against someone.
Agreed. Having a "wet and reckless" on my record, I wanted to comment more but bit my tongue. If any of you have ever driven after two beers, I got news for you - you've been a drunk driver too.
I got no sympathy for drunks, junkies and all the rest of the lowlifes everywhere.
Wish the guy a fast recovery, and the drunks life to become a living hell.

The person who caused this accident, obviously must of had far more than just 2 beers to cause the extent of damage by overturning the owner's Mustang onto its roof...
This person was not only completely responsible for totaling the victim's brand-new Mustang but could've also killed somebody as well...
IMHO, this person was far over the legal B.A.C limit and had no business being behind the wheel to begin with...
As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm glad that nobody was seriously hurt and that's what matters most, but I'll also stand by what I said that I hope the person responsible gets prosecuted to the full extent of the law for their actions...
I just hope the victim has a fast and speedy recovery soon... As for the driver who was responsible, I have no sympathy whatsoever

Patrick ! No offense to you personally, however I must strongly disagree with your post and here's why.. This person was not only completely responsible for totaling the victim's brand new Mustang, but could've also killed somebody as well.. IMHO, this person was far over the legal B.O.C limit and had no business being behind the wheel to begin with.. As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm glad that nobody was seriously hurt and that's what matters most, but I'll also stand by what I said that I hope the person responsible gets prosecuted to the full extent of the law for their actions..

It's pretty clear this dude was wayyy over the legal limit. Btw this March will be 5 years since. My insurance has gone down to less than my fiancée's, but she has an at fault accident and carpool lane ticket on her record.

None taken. I fully agree with your last statement. I was simply pointing out that a lot of these sideline commenters are sure harsh on people, when they may not fully comprehend what constitutes "drunk" in this country. For the record, I was a 0.10, just 0.02 over the legal limit. I also passed the field sobriety tests, but someone had spilled a drink on me and it was St. Patrick's Day evening, so I reeked. I waited hours after we stopped drinking, downed a few 20oz bottles of water and we had fast food after as well. I felt completely fine. Luckily I didn't hit anything, but got stopped because I was in an unfamiliar area and was trying to find my way back to the freeway, obviously looking like I didn't know where I was going (because I didn't).

The dude in question on the other hand, was IMO only thinking of himself and had no concern towards anyone else nor was he thinking about the consequences of possibly getting someone either seriously hurt or killed in the process..
As far as I'm concerned, this dude deserves nothing short of having his driver's license revoked and once again being prosecuted to the full extent of the law..
My apologies for coming across as being really harsh, but nothing makes my blood boil more than somebody who comes across as being so self centered and inconsiderate that shows no concern or regards towards the safety of others!

Heh Rocky, no worries. Again I completely agree. My comments weren't really going out to you, more so the people who come into "drunk driver" articles and spew their "burn him in hell, spite him with cancer" comments.
I did my classes. I paid the fines. I tell everyone I know my story and I shake my head at my friends/family who still take chances.

First and foremost -- glad no one was seriously injured.
Second -- the person responsible shall be held accountable
Third -- feel bad for the owner, can't imagine a loss of a brand new, special order car like this.
And since no one said it yet .... it looks better this way

Hopefully others will also learn a valuable lesson from your experience as well
I wonder how many priors the drunk driver had? In my state every Monday I hear on the news how someone (man/woman) was pulled over during the weekend and arrested for their 6, 7 8th DUI. It is pitiful. A month ago a woman was arrested for her 15th DUI and was driving without a license. So even if they are prosecuted it really doesn't matter. They will be out eventually and doing it all again. I am glad that the OP is fine and walked away.
