This is a cool video that takes you through the phases of how they designed and built the car. really neat to see the clay, fiberglass, and non drivable prototype.

At around the 8 minute mark, he describes how they did not want the car to be "retro" nor "a theme park of mustang cues"... they intentionally left things off like the C-scoop, B Pillar color, to keep it modern and not too retro.

 

This has been mentioned here before, but it is still a great video.
