Clutch pedal spring removal?

Wondering what peoples opinions are about leaving it or removing it? Do most remove it?

I removed mine last weekend because the non-linearity of pedal engagement kept my 1st gear take off from being smooth even after several weeks of commuting. I thought it was time to try it without the spring.

The effort is noticeably higher without the spring but not overly so. After a week of commuting without it I can report that my 1st gear takeoff is now very smooth and I have gotten used to the effort so I now intend to leave it off.

I hope this helps.

I did the same last week and did notice a bit more effort as well.

But now the clutch feels much better when shifting gears, a lot more predictability which I prefer, even for a daily driver.

Hmm... gonna have to try this, I really don't like the feel with the spring installed.

Pretty easy to do?

Push the clutch pedal down, pull it out with a pair of pliers or something.
