Build Sheet
Build Sheet
Did anybody get their build sheet when you took delivery? My dealer's detail guy had stuffed the window sticker into the glovebox and I also found this sheet stuffed in there. It shows the time printed which I assume must be when it was ready to roll off the line - 10/31/2014 12:58am hehehe...great, a night shift car!
I also happened to notice when I opened the trunk, embossed on the inner surface near the left edge a number which at first I thought was a part number but its more likely a date code. It said "10292014". If you don't know when your car was built, look for this number and see if it resembles a date.
Does anyone have a clue what all the gibberish numbers mean? Way back in the day with the GMs it was pretty easy to decipher because all equipment had codes in boxes but this format looks very different.

I did get mine. Funny story about it though. My salesman Jeff knew I'd want that and couldn't find it anywhere. He went to the service dept. and knew where to look. It was in the trash. Somehow he flattened it from it's ball like configuration and put it in plastic for me along with my visibility report.
I got all the sheets, stickers, decals, protective film, masking tape, every single piece from the factory etc.. From my 2014 GT.
Even the rail shipping slip/barcode that was stuck to the steering wheel, and other documents. My dealer/ sales guys basically took the car right off the truck and locked it up with strict instructions to not do a dealer prep. I drove it home still in the wrapper and looked at it like that for a couple weeks before spending a whole day unwrapping and preserving/documenting all the pieces.
I figured I would like to unwrap my new present and enjoyed every moment.

wow! I didn't get to do that.... mine came from a dealer 180 miles away by them driving it. ugh. I figure it must have had no miles on it because the distance on google was 180 miles or so and the car had 183 miles on it.
Now I need to find a shop that will lift my car so I can photo document the underbody in clean, new condition before it starts to rust/tarnish/get dirty. Tried to ask my salesman if the shop here would do it but they said no, insurance reasons.

Ask one of the mechanics/oil change dudes to take the pics for you.
