I try to avoid looking down on anyone for any reason. Sad for you if you feel the need to do so.
It's all a matter of choices. Some want a V6 and some want a V8. Some want a leather interior and some prefer cloth. Some prefer a manual transmission and others prefer an automatic. Be happy with your choices and respect the choices of other folks, even if they are not the right choices for you.

I'm glad this didn't turn out to be a 8v6 thread....
I'm actually excited to see what ford can do with the eco4. I'm not all that worried about MPG (right now lol) - but I am curious as to the entire layout of a eco4, how much lighter will it be, how much torque will they pull out of it. I expect it to be at least as fast as current v6, maybe faster, and with a new rear end, it could be a monster auto-x machine.... especially if they make a AWD version at some point.

they will never do a awd version. If its anything like my focus ST(and it is) the mpg wont be amazing, but within reason.
The focus ST makes 252 hp and 270 tq. So power out of a turbo 2.3 shouldnt be an issue. The sct tune for the focus ST as 23 hp and 45 tq and even more power with a cai combo.

Stage 1 SCT X3 Tuner - 2013 Focus ST
Gains of up to 23 horsepower and 45 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels can be expected on 91+ octane fuel.

I still don't get how ecoboost is a premium upgrade. Can't stand the throttle lag. Drove a new Escape and couldn't believe how it took 3 seconds to start gaining after I floored it.

With it being turbocharged I suspect they will get some serious torque out of it. I doubt that it will be a WHOLE lot lighter than the V6. What's the weight difference between the V6 and the V8?

Interesting, Id roll with it, but i do like my v8 more. I personally would like to see v6, ecoboost i4, V8 GT, V8 Ecoboost, 5.8l shelby. but hey, twin turbo coyote is just a dream unless you do it aftermarket.

i think i'll believe it when i see it. i remember back when the original S197 was released, everyone was speculating on what would power the SVT variant. i remember one magazine nearly sounded positive on a 450+hp DOHC S/C'd 4.6L. as we all know that turned out to be a 475hp DOHC S/C'd 5.4L that later got bumped up to 500hp.
