2018 GT prem.

well disappointed with ford, I bought 2 mustangs and a 2017 F-150 and this 2018 order all since 2015, that's 4 vehs. in 3 yrs. so I have a right to complain and they really did a screw job with their ordering configuration...! Bought a 2015 GT and turned it in for a 2017 GT and its turned in and ordering a 2018 GT prem plus I bought a F-150 end of june, However disappointing Ford chose to rip off customers. They didn't take much of a price increase but now they made blind spot and shaker an option instead of including it in the 401A... The 2018, 401A option sux and has NOTHING worth a crap in it ! Thanks ford for a shaft job ! Screw they're gimmic exhaust and I do agree the transmission option sounds great but I am not going to sucker for a untested 10 speed automatic. It might just be like the focus... Serious folks!

The 401 used to just be upgraded interior. The 15+ is when they made the 401 have the shaker pro. I'm glad it's separate again. Also that bliss is an option bc I don't like it. But now that it's a nice interior again including that awesome LCD gauge cluster. How could you say it has nothing you'd want in it?

The auto transmission is far from untested btw. It's in the zl1 and the raptor. The focus had a dual clutch which is why there were some issues. The 10 speed is a normal auto.

the 2017 401A included shaker, blind spot mirrors etc. the 401A now is nothing worth paying for.

the 401A has the:
12" LCD Digital Instrument Cluster with MyColor®

I think its one of the big things most people are interested in, I know I would love to have the new 12" cluster.

I've configured an '18 GT Premium rag top in Royal Crimson (although Kona Blue remains a possibility). I really like how it looks in the rendering, but I sure wish Ford would provide a side profile image with the top down. Still want to see it in person though.

It also appears that the convertible is not available as a GT base model....Premium only.

I originally thought I'd want the Perf Pkg and Magneride (which is only available with the PP), but with a combined extra cost of $5700 it doesn't make sense, especially on a convertible. I don't plan to track the car anyway....just want a really nice handling and powerful fun-day cruiser.

At a tick over $47K MSRP, mine would include:

Royal Crimson extra cost paint
Man tranny
400A Standard GT convertible black leather interior
Black Accent Pkg
Spoiler Delete
Active Exhaust
Spare tire

I ordered a 2018 GT prem last Thursday: 10-speed auto (44U), Equipment Group 401a, Enhanced Security Package (43S), Active Valve Performance Exhaust (19B), 20 x 9 Premium Painted Aluminum Wheels (649), Premium AM/FM Stereo with Single CD and HD Radio (583), Magnetic (J7) and Ebony with Metal Gray Stitch (51). List is $47,270. Don't know when production starts on the 2018s.

I have to agree that Ford's packaging scheme on the 2018 Mustang is disappointing. I wanted the digital instrument cluster so I had to go with the 401a package ($2200). I wanted an HD radio so I had to go with the Shaker Pro Audio System ($895). (Thought maybe it was in the 401a package, but Ford confirmed it's not.) I wanted BLIS, but no way was I going to pay the price ($1495) for the Safe and Smart Package to get it. I also wanted the the black wheels 19 x 9 (9.5 rear), but again, only available with the performance package ($3995) which I don't need on a daily driver.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to getting my Mustang sometime this fall.
