2017 Mustang -- Lighning Blue?
I currently have a 2013 Mustang in Deep Impact Blue. I'm a big, big fan of blues.
It's the most gorgeous blue I have yet seen in a car.
However, I am looking to upgrade to the '16 or '17, and in my various reading it looks like Ford is going to discontinue DIB in '17 (yikes!). Apparently it's going to be replaced with Lightning Blue & Grabber Blue.
Grabber Blue, frankly, looks like the shade of something a baby would puke up. So, the only question is what does Lightning Blue look like? Are there any current vehicles with this shade?
And for the ford reps that hang out here, some brief feedback: No Deep Impact Blue (or something very, very similar like Kona) means no sale here!

Thanks, looks like Ford hasn't dropped the ball for us dark blue lovers. Still think I prefer the DIB to that (kinda like the 'purple' look in some light), but that's also a **** nice blue. Will make the purchase easier as I will be able to negotiate with the stealership from a better position (i.e. can walk away from a 2016 if the price isn't right).

I think it's the "liquid blue" they have teased. That's also a gorgeous blue, but not quite dark enough for my preference.

If this blue had been available in May of 14, when I ordered my '15, I would be rocking a blue Mustang, not a green one!!!

Liquid was shown on all the Ford Performance stuff that year.
It is NOT Lightning Blue however.
Liquid is apparently an expensive coat of paint that couldn't be replicated in production.
Which really sucks because it looks amazing.
There was also a liquid silver and liquid red that was shown on the FordGT.

Yeah it's an amazing colour.
Really too bad they showed it and got everyone hot and bothered over it, and then shot everyone's hopes down.
As per Jalopnik:

Ford explained to us that "Liquid Blue" is a show-car color only, and that it's actually multiple layers of paint on the display cars. Now, Ford also said that in the past, special show colors have made the transition to the production-car pallette, but right now Liquid Blue isn't in the running.

Hey Ford,.....if you're listening, maybe offer it as a "Premium Color" if someone wants to order it that color and just charge them for it. Maybe the cost would be to astronomical?
