2016 Wheels w/Perf Package?
We're thinking of trading our 2014 GT in on a new 2016. THINKING. Not decided.
But I was wondering if when ordering the Performance package, it comes with black or regular wheels? I know the package gives you larger wheels.
Any other thoughts on going to a 2016 from the 2014?
thanks
Tom

Hey thanks everyone. Dealer is getting the car on Monday. Kind of nervous because I do like our 2014. I wonder what the real difference will be in actual feel everyday. I did test drive one months back but only at a slow speed around the dealers lot, hard to tell.

You will really like the 550. My 15 GT handles much better than either the 14 Roush or 14 Shelby 500 I owned. You won't regret going to the new chassis.

Great! I'm also thinking of insisting that if they want the deal, they put the Ford Racing short throw shifter on. We are really sentimental about our 2014 in Grabber Blue but can't afford to keep both if we do this...so that's good news that you are so impressed! Thanks

Don't know what regular wheels are but the 2016 GT Performance Package base wheels are black. You can upgrade to the the same wheels in silver for around $200 MSRP. Its not a separate option but rather two versions of the Performance Package with two prices.

I went from a 2014 GT Premium Track Pack to a 2016 GT Premium Performance Package. I love the S550 even more than I loved my 2014. It's a better all-around car in just about every way. And I couldn't believe how much better the 6-piston Brembos are on my new car vs the 4-piston ones I had on my 2014. It's easy for me to say, but I say definitely make the jump if you can. I will say the black PP wheels are a pain to clean because of how much the Brembo brake pads dust, but there are a couple things you can do to address this cleaning issue.

I say don't do it, but a lot depends on how "tame" you want the car to feel, and how you feel about the polarizing look of the S550. I wouldn't do it. Part of the appeal of my 14 is the vintage look. The other is the thrill of driving it. It doesn't feel like every other sport car out there. I doesn't feel like riding a horse either. It feels like breaking one.
I've driven a few 15's and they are soother, quieter, and more... boring. Drop $2k in suspension mods on your car and enjoy the car.
One of my friends works for Ford, and he brought over a 15 PP for me to drive. We both drove both cars and reached the same conclusion. His comment was "yours is just so much sharper feeling". Plus it looks better if you ask me

Looks are in the eyes of the beholder. If your trying to build a straight line car then the 2014 is better, if your looking for a car that is similar in acceleration and better handling in the twisters then get the S550. One thing that isn't debatable is the interior, the S550 is WAY better (especially in the premium models).
But even for road racing I disagree. The only reason the stock S550 is quicker around a road course is is because it has a better suspension setup out of the factory. I'm about to install a lot of suspension mods on mine (thank you Steeda and Koni), and I seriously doubt a similarly modified S550 will be able to keep up with my car in the at a road course. The suspension advantage of the S550 will be gone, the S197 will be lighter, and the only edge the S550 has left is the 6 piston brakes. But at a cost of additional 150lbs or so. I like my odds
