I really want a Magnetic GT Vert with Redline interior, but have to wait a little longer before I can seriously consider one. Now that I know the performance pack is going to be offered in the vert Im really torn because I would love one with a performance pack, but feel the manual trans would defeat the purpose of cruising a vert with the top down.

Why? Hard to see a connection there. Does that mean a coupe shouldn't be an automatic?

My two favorite things about my GT is that it's a stick, and the top goes down.

Its just my personal opinion, not saying a coupe should be a manual or a vert should be a auto; it really comes down to the buyer. Also the other main reason I would want the vert in auto is because despite attempts my wife cant drive a manual. Its not a major issue because when I had my 12 auto she must have driven it less than a handful of times, but sometimes it would be easier for us in certain situations for her to be able to drive my car.

In 15 you could get the Performance Package with an automatic in the Ecoboost and the LE. With no limited edition for 16 I figured they would offer the Performance Package and automatic.

Just 30 more days and my new 15 GT in Magnetic convertible should be here.... Just like waiting for Christmas and being 12 years old again.

If you care about the electronics, the 2016 will have an overhaul of the nav/entertainment system.

Sync3 will be a much, much better system:

* QNX based, so much more efficient (more responsive, etc.) than the Microsoft abomination
* Capacitive Multi-touch like modern tablets. Will make it more responsive to touch, allow gestures like pinch to zoom on maps, etc.
* Re-designed UI
* LED backlit display (better visibility during the day)
* Apple CarPlay and Andoid Auto integration (replaces a lot of sync functionality with the Apple or Android equiv, such as apps integration and voice recognition).

And, no more cheesy "powered by Microsoft" logo plastered on the center console area. (seriously, what idiot at Ford thought that would be a good thing to put in their car?)

My 2013 GT is a solid vehicle except the trash nav/ent system.

At this late stage in the game, I would only consider the '16 unless you had to have the 50th anniversary package or could save thousands off the price.

Dealer told me that 90% of hard tops are stick and 80% of verts are autos....no idea why...Mine is an auto and I love it....

My last several cars have been verts and I'll never go back to a hardtop unless I win lots o cash so I can afford a coupe too. I think it's vert culture to have an auto. Something about care free driving while enjoying a top down cruise. At least that's the way I feel about it.

Right on......
Next best thing to a motorcycle....I couldn't agree more.
My 1st Vert was a 1963 Pontiac Catalina with a 389. My next was a 1966 Ford Fairlane then a 1998 Mustang V6 and now a 2004 Mustang GT.
Selling the GT for a 2015 which will be here in 4 weeks.
I'm feeling like a 12 year old kid waiting for Christmas.

Congrats on the new car when it arrives. Last year I traded in my 2000 GT for my 2014. I lived on the Fird site for two months. My F5 key pretty much wore out refreshing the site to see any progress on my new car.
