2015 V6 vs 2015 Ecoboost
How does the V6 2015 compare to the Ecoboost? From what I've seen the 15 V6 is looking like a better buy than the EB. The only downside is that the V6 does not have a premium model or a performance pack.

I still almost can't believe they don't have a premium package for the V6. I think that's an incredible blunder by Ford. I had the '12 GT, which I loved... and traded out of on a whim and in a moment of incredibly selfish weakness. I like shiny new things. I don't regret the move back to a V6 (Challenger) because I never drove the GT like it should be driven, so if was Mustang shopping today I'd be looking directly at the V6, which I would very likely take immediately for the Roush works. But not with cloth seats and the lack of creature comforts in the premium packages. Maybe they'll come to their senses and bring it back.
Edited to say I've changed my mind and will probably live with the V6.

I would say the V6 compares to the Eco like the F-150’s V8 compares to the F-150’s Eco.
Same ballpark amount of power but different delivery. Eco feels more powerful in everyday driving, but when pushed hard it taps out quickly. If you know how to push a V6 you can get better results.
Also, I have the feeling the convertible V6 will have the leather option. Think rental....

Depends on what you do with it. As a daily driver the EB may be a better option. But if you know how to push a car hard, get the V6. You'll get better high end performance out of it as hellogreg said.

The EB will run mid 12's with a tune, and won't fall off at high RPM like it does in stock form...can't say the V6 will run anywhere near this with just a tune and DR's:

You know what? The V6 is still a great buy. SOOOO many people will go out and buy a V6 PP or a GT with TP on it and still rip out most of the upgraded components associated with the upgrades and go aftermarket. Might as well just buy the base and upgrade it yourself with your own upgrades and build your own "Performance Pack".
