2015 Mustang V6/EcoBoost Roush Axle-Back Exhaust Install Video
Roush 421837 Mustang Axle-Back Kit Stainless V6/EcoBoost 2015
Today we are installing Roush's stainless steel axle-back exhaust on our 2015 Mustang EcoBoost, this exhaust will also fit the V6 as well.
By now most people are aware that the new EcoBoost falls way short when it comes to sound, that fact is, its a 4 cylinder turbo, its just will not make the growl that the GT does. This doesn't mean you can't make yours sound more aggressive. Roush has a history of making cars sound great, so we couldn't wait to install their new EcoBoost system.
Like all axle-back systems for the 2015, you have to cut off your factory exhaust to make this system work, after that its a quick bolt-on that should only take about half an hour to install.
The Roush axle-back sounds great and with the polished stainless steel rounded tips, it looks great as well.

As usual, a great, GREAT install video!
However... I have to take a little bit of issue with this:
"Well four cylinder's here to stay and it's always going to sound like a four cylinder 'cause it's simply four cylinders shy of giving you that V8 growl."
As said, it doesn't mean it can't sound better... but... I submit this video:
(You'll need to hit the 'Youtube' icon at the lower left, I don't know why the embeddin' doesn't work. )
That is a Honda VFR Interceptor, a V4 engine, with the Two Brothers exhaust. It sounds nothing like any import exhaust.
Tell me that's not some growl, folks.
I'm not saying the Eco 4, nor any car 4, could be made to sound as sweet as the VFR does... but I bet it could get closer. I'm betting it's all about the firing order and timing is wrong is the problem, as explained with this video:
And I'm with that guy. I WANT that bike. And I will in fact have one, one day.
Now, I'm not trying to steal the thunder of the video, and indeed, that exhaust sounds much better. But it also sounds like an import in both cases, and I am of the firm belief it doesn't need to, if only Ford would fix it.
Alas, gotta work with what y'all got I suppose.
LOVE those tips. Love. Want.
