2015 Mustang Models?
If they did choose to bring back the SVO name, I think it makes sense as a package for the base car, not its own trim. Make it like the current V6 PP or GT/CS package.
I see the 3.7 V6 going to Lincoln in their version of the new car, or a sub 3.5 TT Ecoboost motor that's new to the game in a year or two.
Coyote and Roadrunner are going to merge, with the former gaining tech from the latter and a bump in power to match.
The 5.8 (Trinity) is on a short leash. I think more stringent emissions will be the nail in the coffin for it. It's the perfect swan song for the S197 and GT500 to go out on.

SVO was the name of the team of Ford Engineers that pulled together to make a special Mustang model. Now that Ford has a permanent, dedicated team of Engineers working on specialty, high performance vehicles, I don't know that they would use the SVO name to identify a specific model.
This is one of the reasons I wish they'd pull the Shelby name off the cars & just call them SVT Cobras. Then, if SVT developed a EB4 or EB6 to put in the Stang, they would have 2 SVT Stangs. Could call one the SVT Mustang & the other the SVT Cobra.

This on the otherhand should be rightly called a Cobra, if Ford was interested in making an honest to goodness V8 sports car rather than tacking on the Cobra moniker to a Mustang.

2015... what models should be resurrected?
There's rumors, according to Motortrend, that Ford might bring back the SVO. What are your thoughts on yet another available trim for the Mustang? What about the Mach 1 and The Bullit? Should Ford put out all their trims ever to appeal to all tastes, or are there enough models already?

the SVO makes sense...as far as other models I'd like to see another Mach 1. I'm not sure they'll be looking to do anything else for specialty models since the plate is already pretty full though..
I would like to see the MACH 1, Boss 351 Bullitt.
They are bringing in a 4 cylinder ECO boost to the mustang it seems so the "SVO" could be that.
But what I really want them to bring in the new mustang is the coyote with DI and turbos.

As few as possible.
Perhaps the Mustang, with its apparently forward-looking design ought to be forward looking with its models too rather than forever reliving the past like Al Bundy reminiscing over some long ago high school football game.
How about creating some new heritage and legends rather than reflexively disinterring old ones? Yes, the Stang does have a great heritage, celebrate it well, but let’s best celebrate the original Mustang’s forward looking attitude by looking forward today.

if its not broke why "fix" it? its been in constant production since 1964 one of very few cars to do so...but f' it lets make it look like an audi and nothing like a mustang...sounds like a good idea....probe ring any bells?
