Just caught this little blurb on the 3.5 V6EB used in the '15 Expedition. Impressive it peaks so low.

<The engine's been tuned to 365 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, the latter of which is all available at just 2,500 RPM on 87 octane gas.>

Lol. You officially get first dibs!

Yeah, Ford has a history of underrating their engines. With the Focus ST, Ford says 270 tq, but people have dynoed stock STs and gotten 270 at the wheels.
So it might not just be the V6 that's underrated.
As you say, only time will tell. I can't wait for production cars to get in the hands of owners who take them to the dyno.

I am 100% for the eco-4 in the Mustang! and 320lb-ft of torque!? Awesome!

... I am wondering though... how long until we see a tuner exhaust on one?
Which, btw, I think would sound pretty sweet... but would look odd on a Mustang.

The brakes plus now all premiums have heated and cooled seats and because premiums make up the majority of gt sales they then have to be factored into the curb weight. I don't know the exact math but curb weight isn't "lightest version with no options" it has to include options which are estimated to be on something like 50% of the cars sold. Don't quote me on that exact number but that is roughly the methodology. So we could very well have a base gt performance pack with recaros be lighter than a comparable 2014 on the actual scales.

Amen to that... I've, in my life, only seen one Mustang with import tuner style exhaust... (it was in podunk, AR behind a beaten and worn shack)

There it is

New 2.3-liter EcoBoost® brings turbocharging and direct injection to Mustang with 310 horsepower and 320 lb.-ft. of torque – best-ever power density from a Ford engine
Sneak in direct injection on the 2.3 liter to see how it performs, then toss it in on the 2016's 5.0.

edit for another insight

Forged-steel crankshaft
Piston-cooling jets
Steel piston ring carriers
Premium bearing materials
Upgraded valve seat materials
Forged-steel connecting rods
High-pressure die-cast aluminum cylinder block with ladder-frame bearing caps
Deep-sump, die-cast aluminum oil pan
Holy crap...I feel like that engine will be able to handle a lot more. I see those I4's putting out some great numbers when tuned and modded.

Trust me, I'm excited about the 2.3 because it will hopefully mosey it's way into the focus with the RS monicker... Pair it with awd, we're looking at an STi slayer with decent mpg. If it makes it, I will definitely acquire! Haha

The EB stang will be segment destroyer, brz, frs, gen coupe (either one really), v6 camaro I'll all be behind it now that it has irs. Now if only they could bring that lighter frame into production and shave weight we would really be onto something

RS won't be AWD. Trust. It SHOULD be, but it WON'T be.

No, it would be FWD with fancy electronic whatevers to make it kinda-sorta handle as well as an AWD...just like in the past.

Revo-knuckle is good... In a way that's fine. It will handle better than awd, th ST is tail happy and won't under steer like awd does... Just the traction issues of fwd :/ that's why awd would be nice, especially with those numbers

It's titanium. And the tip is blued not burnt.

We would be lucky to see companies like GReddy making exhausts for the mustang. The quality is superb.

Let's put it this way. When I was in the import tuner world, companies like borla and magnaflow for exhaust, were complete and utter trash. No one ran their stuff.

I think the 2.3EB would be nice in a high-performance version of the Fusion, along with a manual transmission, of course.

.
But isn't it supposed to imply just how 'hot' the little beast is?
