2015 Mustang GT

I used to do lots of Camaro photoshop work on some of the GM sites and was a moderator on one of the 5th gen Camaro sites. My Z28 concept got popular and made a few blogs.

Well I like to try a swing at the next gen Mustang. I realize that it not going to be everyone cup of tea, but I designed it with Ford path in mind and moving forward but still keeping mustang styling cues.

Points in mind:

-Smaller car. Infiniti G35 sized (smaller lighter car with still keep backseats common to the mustang.)
-IRS
-Ecoboost friendly, with 5.0 as an option
-Ford Kinect Design influence
-SN95-New Edge design cue revival
-More aerodynamic look (hopefully actually more aerodynamic for fuel mileage reasons)
-stronger 1969/1970 styling cues (hood, stronger quarter hump, grille)

I really like this a lot. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the powered by Ford badge.

The rear is still a sketch. But the idea was to have the rear "V" in like a 1968 rear deck and window, but not as dramatic as the 1st gen corvettes. So to make the trunk accessible and to pay a little to the fox, the rear is a hatchback function but still has the fastback look. Think window glass covered frame connected to a wider decklid.

Also, if you notice the three amber block design on the headlight; I had a downward travelling chase or sequential effect similar to the current taillights. I like this idea to give the mustang even more exclusive features. The CCFL line bar that travels on the bottom of the headlight and follows the design flow of the amber blocks......adds a driving light feature (similar to the Camaro "halo" on the RS models. HID standard.

Also the powered by Ford billet block that like a fender extension is to cue more of the Aussie influences from the global platform.

Very interesting study and I think, certainly conceptually if not in actual detail, points to what we might expect in the NextStang. I think a melding of Mustang design cues done as interpreted through the lens of Ford's Kinetic Design language will be guiding the NextStang's lines. As exemplified by your study, that certainly is a tack that can produce a Mustang that is both fully contemporary and fully a Mustang.

I have some gripes, but overall it's a quite well done image. Kudos, Jinx.

I like your take on the car. Only thing I would change is the lower grill, it's a touch too much.

I like it, personally I'd put the 94-current pony in the center of the grille. When you sketch the back I'd suggest making the tail lamps 3 separate bars again. I think something like 67-68 or even like the 96-98 tail lamps.

Great job of putting modern and retro touches in your concept!

I'd hit that!

I really like it...a few things I'd change, like the tip of the hood, and I'd narrow the rear part of the greenhouse, to make it look more like a fastback, but otherwise, that thing is hot! Let's hope the next gen Mustang looks that good!

I like the overall idea behind this! I think a 370Z-/G37-sized Mustang is right on the money! Personally I would remove the hood "horn", make the outboard area of the headlights angle down (not swept up) and perhaps make the c-scallop more pronounced.

Overall idea is good. As others have mentioned, just need to refine some of the details a bit more.

Jinx, nice photoshop work :-) car looks great. Looks like you need to put a seam for the hood to open though, otherwise it's going to be pretty hard to change the oil.

Can't wait to see your rendition on the rear area. So are you using puppet warp and liquify tools to create these cars, or some kind of plug in?
