Scary. That’s our take on this rendering of a hatchback model for the new Mustang. In concept, this would probably add a lot more functionality to the S550, but at a hefty price. That price being catastrophic ugliness.

It's almost the Mustang shooting brake

 

The Audi works because the front end is a lot shorter. The Mustang chop just looks awkward. It could happen if it were done right - that is not done right though lol

 

I'd like to see a rendering of a proper coupe, ala first & second gen styles.

I like the lines of my 2014 'vert when the top has to be up. Since both the body and top are black, it's easy envision my Mustang as a coupe. The photos I've seen of top up S550's provide a similar perspective.

 

I was going to say the exact same thing. The proportions are just wrong on the Mustang render.

If we're going that direction, make mine a Jensen Interceptor with the big honkin Mopar.

Are they morphing it into a station wagon? What's next? Stretch it and add two more doors?

 

I dont know why but this somehow makes me wish Dodge Magnum was still for sale, it was such a nice wagon( specially the more aggressive 2008 refreshed face).

 

How about a Ranchero version...

 

I had a Magnum with the hemi. The hemi was the only nice thing about it. Everything else literally just fell apart. It was disappointing. (Even the transmission went out once, replaced under warranty).

The engine though: amazing.
