I don't believe it for a moment as from what I understand.. Current 2014 production won't be ending until April and there is also supposed to be a 2014.5 Mustang also arriving in April to be designated as the 50th anniversary edition until the upcoming 15MY arrives in July..

Until official word comes from Ford, it's just another rumor as far as I'm concerned !

 

So all the 2014.5 stuff could of been rumors as well.

 

I just do not think the new Mustang will be at LA. I understood the article, but the author credited news as the source without listing any specific source. Sounds to me as if the author was just guessing about LA. Detroit would be the most appropriate place for the debut of a new Mustang. The Detroit auto show is much closer to the production plant than LA. Why would Ford want to risk hauling a new Mustang all the way to LA ?

 

They haul stuff like that all the time. I don't think they worry about that.

I could see the mustang at LA, Detroit, or NY. The f150 makes more sense at Detroit. So it's a toss up.

 

My guess is that if we see anything pre-4/17/2014 NYIAS it will be a Mustang concept car, much like a concept Mustang preceded the production 2005. Such a concept would presage and pave the way for the much updated design language of the 2015.

 

Sounds realistic (for the LA show), as the european (static prototypes) launch is set for Dec. 6th. in Barcelona according to several "insiders".

 

I have heard, from a reliable source in the UK (that I know well), that they have been invited to the event on December 6th in Barcelona, although no specific details of what would be seen were forthcoming. However, I can't imagine Ford fly people to an event and not at least having static S550s there, so that part makes sense. I'm not suggesting Barcelona is the only place it'll be seen on the 6th though........

However, the LA Show runs from November 22nd to December 1st.........if S550 is revealed there, it kinda ruins any surprise on the 6th.

I can imagine some sort of tease at LA, and I'm hoping that leads to us at least seeing S550 on the date suggested.

 

Ford needs to stay true to the history of the Mustang..................April 17, 2014.

 

Sure ! they could be rumors, but that's also the info I got from my local Ford dealership's rep.

However he did confirm the current 2014 production run has been extended until March/April 2014 due to the delay of the upcoming 15MY being moved up from April and will not be going into production until at least July..

 

Due to production delay timing for the upcoming 15MY.. I tend to agree with you and if there isn't going to be a 2014.5 as rumored ? then yes, if we see anything pre 4/17/2014 NYIAS it would more than likely be a Mustang concept car

 

What are the details of this Barcelona event? Invite only? Public show? I'll skip my Christmas party to take a quick trip and check it out! (Just did Veterans Day weekend up in Valencia, LOVE the area, looking for an excuse to go back, and airfare is super cheap.)

 

I really wanna see at least something related to the 15 Mustang at LA

Just doesn't seem like Ford would release the new Mustang internationally rather than here in NY or the likes.

I realize it's an international car but it's still the US' baby. We don't get dibs on a new Aston or M3.

Just doesn't make sense to me but I don't do release parties for...anything.
