2015 or 2016

Anyone hear planning on snatching up a 2015 right away?

Being a dealer tech has always tought me to hold off a year to allow
production fixes.

Is that a general consensus among enthusiasts as well?

My truck should also be payed off in time to allow me to order a 2016
depending on what the car turns out to be, or I may just keep my truck
and do a cummins swap to get rid of the 5.4L 3V and get a bike for a toy..
so I'm anxious to see what this car will be and the lack of information is making it that much worse..

Kind of hard to make that commitment until I even see the car.

I think its a 50/50 split. I think one side thinks "first year is always bad". The other group thinks "MUST have the new shiny one".

I'm getting a 2014 when my wife's car is paid off in June. I'd rather get the last year model then the first year of the next generation. Didn't the 2011 3.7 have some engine noise problems?

My 04 gt will be payed off by 2015. it really depends on how it looks, the features, and performance. I want a special edition this time around. something that i can really invest my time and money in. my choices right now are a 2004 cobra, 2013 boss, or a 2015 SE if any. time will tell.

I will be in the market starting next February 2014. 2015 Mustang GT is on my short list. It would be my first non-GM vehicle. I bought the 2004 GTO in 2004 as an "early adopter". I think Ford will have the new Mustang worked out well to avoid the first year kinks some vehicles have. At least I hope.

Remember the 11/12 5.0 & Getrag issues.

I remember hearing of it. I never had a single issue with mine in 12,800 miles.

Haven't seen any more #8 problems on the 13's with the revised pistons and not much whining after they tweaked the Getrag.

Maybe not as many as with the 11-12's, but there's still some out there with the same Getrag issues.

If I dont jump on a 2014, ill be ordering a 2015 as soon as the order banks are open. Only thing keeping me from grabbing the 14 now is waiting to see what the 15 will look like.

Smart move. Heck why buy a 14 now when we're just one year away from finding out what the 15 stang will look like. Those people who don't like the look of the 15 can then order a 14. Win, win. Or buy a used 14 with a few thousand miles because someone didn't wait and now they want a 15.

There should be no new powertrains right off the bat so, I doubt any new technical difficulties will arise. I am completely open to almost anything they will be offering in the 1st year. A base 2015 Eco 4 Convertible is on my hot list as well as a 2016 SVT GT350 and 2017 GT500...

If it looks the way I think it will, there might be a nasty rush the first year as with the 2005... and that is where quality sometimes takes a bump. Higher quantity, lower quality.

Lots of things to consider. I would imagine you will be able to get a fantastic deal (rebates) on the 14 right around the last little bit of its production. As others said you have to consider the new platform and potential quality issues ect... The new Mustang is going to be a drastic change from what most of us are used to. Im excited yet worried at the same time. I know it has to be one of the best kept secrets ever! I am starved for more information. The thought has crossed my mind to buy a 14 base v6 package with only 3.31 gears for a daily driver. I have already seen them advertised for 20K and that is a bargain for what you get.

I considered trading my truck on a 2014 V6 with the black wheel appearance package(FP6 I think) and cloth recaros, which stickers $25K. I have driven several V6's, one GT/CS and a 13' GT500 and I would go with the sixxer for the compromise of performance, price and economy

Not sure why everyone assumes we wint see the 2015 Mustang revealed till April 17 2014. If thats the case the 2014 will be in production for 15+ months.
Given Fords current production schedule it would be more likely to reveal at the least the prototype on April 17 2013. The anniversary has fallen on the 4 and 9 model years so this being the 4 and the 50th following the time line they have always used, I think announcing it this April makes more sense
Of course they could always extend the 24 production like they shortened the 2010 to roll out the 5.0 earlier. I can't wait to see something solid from Ford so I can decide if im ordering a 2014 or waiting for the 15.
