'18 Mustang GT underrated???

Factory HP and tq ratings for the '18 Mustang GT are 460/420.

Late Model Restoration just ran their auto '18 and it put down 415/397.
American Muscle just ran a manual '18 and it put down 437/401.

Those numbers translate to 480-500 crank hp and at least 450 ft-lbs of torque at the crank.

Also, LMR just took their to the track, completely stock auto '18 GT, ran 12.02 @ 116.9 mph

Yes, that's quicker than either GT350 model with their 526 HP.

I could see the 415, ( about 10 % ) drive train loss, the 437 seems like a very generous dyno.....As these cars are putting out way less hp than the competition, I don't see any reason for Ford to under-rate them.

That's good news, 6MT should be able to hit high 11's with a few mods. The car is starting to look better too, which is a plus.

But the thing I'm most excited about with '18s (other than cluster) is the PP Level 2 with 305 rubber all around and stiffer suspension. About time!

That 10 speed is also a big factor in being able to run so fast. It basically gets to stay in constant peak power through the entire run. I dont believe AM at all.

Just saw a video of Lund Racing posting 424 to 430 at the wheels with stock tune. Looking good! They ended up with 450 with JLT intake with 120mm MAF and 93 tune.

Gabe, I think you're onto something

Dang, I want one . . . just for grins I tried the build and price tool; with the performance package and Recarro seats, it comes out to $48K! Ouch!

Digital cluster software. In certain situations it won't tell you you're not in park or park brake on.

But that has nothing to do with it being underrated on power. So C'est la vie
