A tach with a programable shift light would be a superb idea. Hopefully, you can convince Ford to over a shift light as part of the performance pack.

That shouldn't be a problem, the GT500 has a programmable light and an audible indicator as well, I really don't understand why the GT doesn't already.

I think the GT 2005-2009 cluster has one. Take a flashlight and point it in on the idiot lights and you may see an up arrow. I may be wrong, but I thought it was active in the Shelby GT.

Its not active in the SGT (at least not in mine), but the up arrow isn't what I was referring to. On my 500 that arrow just prompts you to shift up for best fuel economy.

The programmable shift light is the SVT logo in the middle of the tach.....

When the function is turned off in the message center, it stays lit all of the time. When you turn it on and program it for the desired RPM it stays off until you hit that rpm, then lights up to let you know to shift. It also has an audible chime that you can turn on or off as well in conjunction with the light.

Do other manufactures put programable shift lights in their performance cars ? If so, what makes have them ?

Boomer Apr 8, 2011 09:18 AM

Telemetry like the Challenger would be cool.

Overboost Apr 9, 2011 10:26 AM

I also think it would be clever to have the ability to turn off the sequential turn signals. I know some people don't care for them. Could be done just like the autolamp settings in the cluster.

Second, power seat with memory and quick release for access to back seats.

Selectable sequentials would be great for the UK as they're not legal over here........that's not to say we don't want or like them, it's just they need to be adapted to pass our initial registration test and the yearly MOT (road worthyness test).

As for memory seats? YES! One of my biggest bugbears about the interior of my car is the fact I have to manually put the seat back to my favoured position every time one of my kids gets out the back! That'd be a godsend!

simple comfort options that are already in the ford portfolio that they should really add for 2013
-power seatback
-memory seats
-how bout a telescoping steering wheel, why they didnt add it when they went to EPAS i dont understand, if they were messing around with the whole mechanism
-keyless start optional
-and can us cold weather package ppl get some heated mirrors please, if we order heated seats odds are its gonna be cold enough to need to do some defrosting as well (please the one person who lives at the perfect latitude that it gets cold enough for heated seats but never snows or ice rains dont jump on me)

none of this except the telescoping wheel would be needed on the base model so the "cheap v8" wouldnt be affected only us premium package ppl would end up paying more (which is probably going to happen if they add this stuff or not lol)

one personal request for my 2013 to be, delete red steering wheel but keep the red seats

Only one I can think of off the top of my head is the Nissan Z and even then I think it is programmed for fuel economy, not performance.

I would like to see a 401a spec'd saddle leather and maybe an optional instrument cluster design thats more inline with the boss and gt500. A version of gt that sits between it and the boss would be nice (alot of manufactures including BMW is doing something of the sort), get the high revving engine but leave out the suspension and add options to the orders. Either way cant wait to get this car.

And everyone thought it wasn't gonna happen...

I see the front fascia and hood are closer to the GT500 style, and it looks like the fogs in the grille are just decoys.

interesting, i bet its a GT500 that the mustang ppl just crammed a boss grill into to confuse ppl.

mustangmaniak2010 Apr 27, 2011 10:58 AM

God,i would hate to see tacky LEDs like on the Edge or Fiesta on the Mustang...

xlover Apr 27, 2011 11:11 AM

my guess is that it is a GT500, i cant see them making the GT look almost identical to a current GT500.

seems to be alot of excess tape on the lower grill they might have added some extra material that the tape is holding up to make it appear smaller in spy shots

Dragonacc Apr 27, 2011 11:26 AM

The wheels are GT500 PP wheels too... I say it's a new GT500 and not a regular GT.

agreed considering the hood vents as well

mach1fever Apr 27, 2011 11:47 AM

Some Quick Observations:

The vents look similar to the KR hood with a "serated" look. It looks like they have room for horizontal blinkers in the lower fascia and a v-6 ish shape bezel for brake cooling. Interesting I say 500 mule as well.

Itravelalot Apr 27, 2011 12:24 PM

So far, I like the look of the 2012s better. That is probably a good thing since I am buying one.

Is that possibly a spot for leds right under the fog lights that are covered by white tape? I hope not.
