Just a thought...

What if they started offering optional rear axles, V6 PP, and Brembo package on auto trans. equipped cars?

Never really understood the reason why they didn't. Sure, most convertible buyers are not looking for performance, but why completely restrict it? Some people WANT convertible with BBP/PP.

But I understand that not lot of them would be sold. Why not only make them based on personal orders?

The first dealership I went to wouldn't take my order for a base V6 PP without a $500 nonrefundable deposit. The owner's reasoning was that it wouldn't be a very attractable configuration. I went to another dealership (Galpin) and the salesperson said that's ridiculous, and that if I don't buy it, he'll still find a way to sell it to someone.

It would be great if I could get a 3.73 axle when I order a manual GT convertible next year.

I never even realized you couldn't opt for different axle ratios in the convertible. Add that to the "what-if" list.

Yet despite only having a 3.31 and weighing more, they are still a 12 second ride. Nice.

+1 Indeed.

That'd be nice.

OK, time for a thread bump!

How about Ford finally get rid of the ugly antenna (which on the '10+ is even more of an eye-sore than the previous-gen!)?

Or how about some gas hood struts at last?

I reckon they won't change these or we'd have nuttin' left to whine about

Agreed.

Better door materials, Recaro seat option. Not really sure what else they need to do at this point. Just keep it fresh until the complete re design.

V6 P/P w/autotrans would be great..

Overboost Mar 14, 2011 01:44 PM

I wouldn't mind seeing the door lock plungers go away for LED indicator lights. Germans have been doing this for a while.

and the thing about the axle ratios is that is more than just a performance mod it just changes the character of the vehicle, im never gonna drag race my 2010 but i loved how the steeper gears felt on the test drive. i think it makes sense for verts to be offered with all the ratios as options.

Which will be the same as the 2013 Shelby....

Itravelalot Mar 18, 2011 11:34 AM

1967 was the first year for the GT500. 2017 will be the 50th anniversary of the GT500. Any chance of there being a Shelby to celebrate that milestone? That is also the 50th for the Camaro isn't it?

Jim Morrison had a dark blue 1967 GT500. It would be nice to get a dark blue GT500 in 2017 to celebrate. I could settle for 2015 though.

xlover Mar 25, 2011 12:50 PM

lets keep this thread revived since we have a few leaks on the GT500, do we know anything about the rest of the model line. Will we see a small interior upgrade, MFT or sony sound system? HP bump for the GT and V6? any insiders with a few hints for us. I am gonna get a 2013 but i want to do some mental drooling for the next 10 months till i can put my order in.

I would like to see Ford take the current design and make it look more muscular for the 2013 model like they did the new edge mustang. Make the back end wide enough for 12 inch wide wheels.:)

Overboost Apr 3, 2011 05:46 PM

I wouldn't mind seeing a shift light that could be adjusted in the message center.

2 Go Snake Apr 5, 2011 02:07 AM

A tach with a programable shift light would be a superb idea. Hopefully, you can convince Ford to over a shift light as part of the performance pack.
