When to power flush engine and change coolant?
Hi all, my 07 gt is just about five years old and has 25,000 miles on her. My maintenance book says to change coolant at six years or 100,00 miles. I would like to not spend $120.00 if it's not necessary. The dealer told me not to wait as the coolant loses it's corrosion abilities. What you think, wait the year or do it now? Thanks for your reply irv.

It's really a good system. The power flush works great if they do it right. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to do it. $120 seems high for just coolant but that's what it costs to do it right. You can NOT get the same results trying to flush it yourself.

$120 is pretty normal for radiator flushing at the dealer - to the OP, after 5 years, it's not a bad idea to get your hoses changed and a new thermostat while they're at it either. Might end up costing $250 or so, but good peace of mind.
