Unintended Acceleration in my '11 5.0 :(

Just to get this out of the way I have a 2011 5.0 manual. Bone stock. No major issues with the MT-82.

So I was heading home from Carl's Jr. earlier when I had a case of unintended acceleration. It's a pretty cold night (around 50* or so). As I was coming down an empty street the car just started accelerating like a bat out of H-E-double hockey sticks!!!! The engine started blaring. Sounded crazy! Like a pack of wolves fighting over the last bone. I didn't want the engine to bounce off the limiter so I just kept shifting.

I was at 80 in third when I noticed the stop sign approaching. I was like, "Oh crap! I gotta stop this thing!!" So I looked down to see what was causing the problem. It was my right foot! It was applying pressure to the gas pedal and it wouldn't stop! So I picked up my right foot using my right leg and put it on the brake. I stopped just in time before the stop sign. Phew! Got really lucky.

Should I see my dealer about this?

Lol I just block the newbs. They annoy me.

And I was going to say I was older than you, but then I realized your old fart comment made sense, and it made me feel old

Next time I travel to the mid west or east coast, I'm going to try using a Carl's Jr. coupon at Hardees. It should work

Hah I think one of my threads got stickied, back in 2009 when we were super excited about the 5.0 coming out. Good times. Would be nice to be able to actually a) be out of CC debt and b) buy a new car now, but if my track record is any indication, I probably won't. :lesigh:

WOW you are lucky to be alive !!!! I've had this issue many times with my car because it's an automatic.
