So I bought a 2010 Mustang GT 2 months ago. Put 400 miles on it and the trans is gone. Shifts from 1st to 2nd in auto
and then im in neutral and if my foots on the gas the rev limiter goes off. And I paid

9 grand from a dealership with... Yup
you guessed it - NO WARRANTY!
So realistically - how much is it gonna cost me to have a transmission put in this and does anyone out there recommend
anyone in NE Ohio???

 

I Would See If You Can Pull Any Codes Before Giving Up on Trans. Also Check Condition of Fluid & Filter. Of Course These Cars Have No Dipstick Which Was a Design By a Dipstick! When Looking For a Shop The Best Thing These Days & Find a Good Size Car show & Hit Up Some Ford Owners With Similar Years Fords! Local Car People Should Be Your Best Way To Find The Right Shop!

Just drove the car after cooling down and the transmission is shifting fine - I have no idea whats going on!!!

 

Sir you are a wealth of knowledge - Thank You! I believe I need to look at shifter linkage adjustment and fluid level.

 

A Plugged Filter and or Old Low Fluid Can Cause a Host of Issues.

I'd take it to a good local transmission shop and see what they can do; might just need a fluid and filter change, or might be something bigger than that

Just got back from the tranny shop - fluid WAS low. Still cant believe there's no dip stick!
All fixed thanks everyone
