Ok, spent 4 1/2 hours waiting to talk to the Ford Rep and never saw him. I'm wondering if he was even there. The Service Manager had me take my car for a ride to heat it up and then they pulled it onto the lift. With me there they shut down the cylinders one at a time and you can hear the tick in all but cylinder 3 and 4 it's just a slight tick. So now I'm in limbo while they wait for the "Hotline" to contact them back. Well my question is. If the Ford Rep is there why do you need to contact the "Hotline" ?????? Oh you can only hear the tick from under the car. Anyone have any thoughts?

 

HOLY CRAP! mine is doing the exact same thing! I just changed the oil and have a full 8 quarts of oil as recommended. 5w20 mobil1 fully synthetic.

the video in this post in youtube says he ended up with a freakin new engine! what a pain in the ***!

 

I've yet to get a response from ford other than drive it and they are researching the noise.

 

Just got an oil change this morning from the dealership and to my surprise I'm getting a ticking noise. Another thing I noticed is that the engine seems to be operating hotter than usual, I can literally feel the heat.

Now this is my 2nd oil change, both were done 8quarts Full Synthetic and I did not have this issue on my 1st. I'm not sure whats going on, does this have anything to do with oil filter? I have a FRPP Power Pack, I know the washable k&n air filter but oil filter had to be replaced?
