Think Ford would fix this? Paint issue
Think Ford would fix this? Paint issue
OK so this is a pretty minor thing, but i'm just kinda wondering if anyone has experience with something like this.
The pictures are from right next to the antenna. There are 2 spots that are raised up under the paint.
The spots are really small and hard to notice unless you're looking for them, but when you see a light reflecting off that area you can see them pretty good.
Not sure if it's worth the trouble of looking into it any more. What would you guys do?

What does it look like on the under side. Looks like a missed punched spot for drilling.
You normally have a limited number of days for paint issues after delivery so they may question if you caused them. I would see the dealer for sure.

Unfortunately she's put away for the winter, otherwise i'd have the dealership take a look at it. I guess i'll try it in the spring. If there are no indications on the backside of the sheet metal I would hope there's no way they could think it was caused by me.
...A metal shaving that was left on by a sloppy painter.
Not worth the hassle or cost of repainting. Don't pick at that spot either with your nail. It's frustrating I know man, but it could be worse.
In fact, I've seen worse.

I believe the service manager at the store I deal with said that you have your 3 year or 36000 mile warranty on paint. Also any issues with paint have to be photographed and sent to Ford for approval. I know this process because my 13 came with something under the paint on the front lower fascia and it was repaired.I am now trying to get my rear bumper cover redone because it is a noticeable cream colour and a poor match to performance white.

Please make sure you make an appointment with your dealer as soon as she comes out of winter storage. Then, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can get this escalated for you.

blemishes like this are usually reffered to as "fish eyes" and I think they occur any time a particle of debris lands on wet paint or clearcoat, the fluid then "wicks" over the particle and creates the bump. It can probably be wet sanded and buffed out of the clear coat fairly easily. I've also seen much worse from body shops these days, but i've seen a newbie with a buffer tear up a good paint job too..
