S197 Mustang 6-way power seat fail!*

I've owned my car for only 1 year. My driver side 6 way power seat stopped moving up and down. Got stuck at a high position and I had to drive it uncomfortably for a few days.

Took in in for warranty repair and its been there for 3 days. The sliding rack under the seat was faulty apparently. Anyone else have this issue?

Mine got stuck all the way down, but after a day it started working again. I have a feeling it will need a rack replacement as well.

Yep, If you're having problems and are close to warranty expiration, get in to the dealer! It's a $400 part and another $300 to install. Paid that last month. Ugh.

I had the same problem. It just stopped working a month ago. Thought it might be the hot weather in SoCal. Then when it was cool in the morning, it worked, then stopped working again. It's not too far in or out, but not at my ideal position. So I can drive it. I'm way past warranty so I'm on the list at local salvage yards for the part when they get mustangs in that they're parting out cheap....in the meanwhile, saving up money to buy it. $400+ for replacement at my local ford dealer. Then another $300 to install. Crazy.

This is the reason I purchased fords ESP premium warranty. $1600 for 7 year or 125000 miles. It's always been the convenience items that went wrong in my previous cars. Also get $30 a day towards a rental

300 to install? That has to be like an hour's work. You got ripped off.

As you can see in the above, sakol got the same quote from his dealer, so I doubt it. My dealer has been reasonable on everything I've ever had them quote so again, I doubt it.

Kyle, We just had the drivers side replaced on my wife's 2011 V6 MCA with 42XXX miles on it. We expected the repair to be covered by our extended warranty (ESP), which would cost us a $50 deductible. However, we were pleasantly surprised when it was supposedly covered under a "restraints" warranty, so the repair cost us nothing.
