Need help: dislocated front bumper after flying in the air

Hi everyone,

I owe a Mustang 2013 V6 since a couple month and today, while merging on the Highway 405 on west LA, construction workers left a big bump on the road (without signaling anything). I did not see it, I was going 60mph, hit it, flew in the air for 1-2 sec and fell back on the wheels...a little bit like a stuntman would do, unless it was totally non attentional...I got worried for the car and when I came back home I noticed the front bumper was dislocated on the right side (see pictures).
No dents, no scratches. Just the right side sort of came out.

Does any of you could give me some advices regarding on how to repair it ?
should I go to the Ford dealership (might charge me a ton of money for something so small)..or can I do it myself.

Should I so a check of the car (engine, breaks suspensions etc..).
Everything seem fine but the shock was intense.

Thank you so much

In less time than it took to photograph and post a thread, you could have snapped it back together yourself.

Just push it in...it's just some plastic that snaps into place.

Yup, just pop it in.

Where at on the 405? I live very close to the 101/405 so would love to know before my lowered ride kills itself on that bump.

Oh come on now. You were trying to be Steve McQueen and you know it

Hope the bumper pops back in nicely. As for anything else? An alignment check would be a good idea, as well as checking the tires for any bulges or other damage.

My thoughts as well. No telling what got wrenched out of place, and there is plenty of suspension parts that can get out of whack with a hit like that.

I'd also go back to that construction site and snap some pictures of the location that caused this. Then contact the city DOT department.

I drove my F150 over a huge pot hole that was left during road construction; bent the front left rim to the point that air was escaping between the bead and the rim. Got it repaired, then through the advice of the tire shop that had the rim repaired, I took pictures of the location and contacted the DOT for my city. They promptly sent forms for me to fill out, and paid for the dented rim repair because of their fault in not marking the pothole.

Again, get pictures for proof.

I had something similar happen to me, I hit a dog. I tried my best to avoid it but it had ran out in the road in heavy traffic and there was nothing I could do. I killed the poor dog and it really hurt me because I have a dog of my own that's part of the family. Anyways, my bumper cover looked like yours and popping it back it wasn't a option because the clips were broken. I drilled some holes and bolted it from the inside. It's good and you can't tell anything ever happened. Still sucks to have hit that dog.

Dang! That sucks bro! Follow the advice posted by others here.

*Note to self. Avoid the 405.*

That's probably a good note in general

Thanks guys!
I'll follow the advices and will fill a claim including pictures of the site where it happened.
It happened at the 405 (direction south) entrance from culver blvd.
I wish I could avoid this highway.

Concerning the car, I am gonna try to push it in and see if that works.
The alignement check is definitely a smart idea.

Maybe find out what these guys had to do, and then consider yourself lucky.... Or at least smart.

And they'll most likely get their own show on the Discovery Channel.

i replaced my front bumper few weeks ago, and the dealer told me if i got some small problems like your, just pop it in. they may do something "professional", they said usually they gonna heat them up, and when the plastic reach some degree of tem, it is easy and safe to pop it in. anyway, JUST POP IN IT. WATCH OUT YOUR HAND. lol
