Dumb Crap ? Hardly, as I know exactly what Wilson is going through as I took my car to 3 different dealerships and experienced the same run around by every Customer Service Manager I dealt with and not even the Field Service Engineer that Ford sent out which btw: had my car for nearly 3 weeks at the dealership couldn't find anything wrong nor able to explain what was draining 2 different batteries within just a 6 month period..

Therefore I know exactly what it feels like to be frustrated and when I see how another person gets treated like that, especially after spending over 30k.. That most definitely makes my blood boil

So I suppose from your point of view, that it's also not her fault that Wilson's car sucks either right !

The point is.. I never said nor implied it was her fault nor did I ever blame her for anything.. And most of all, I didn't disrespect her in a personal manner by resorting to name calling either.

I responded by only what I read in her post and felt in my opinion she could've been a bit more specific when it came to addressing Wilson's concern and frustration and nothing more..

And if you felt that I was so out of line ?

All you had to do was just simply point out to me in a rational and adult manner that I was wrong as I'm not ashamed to admit when I'm wrong for anything which may have been taken in the wrong way and will always apologize to the person involved for my mistakes..

I may not always agree or even like what folks post on here sometimes, but at least I have enough respect when confronting someone without resorting to personal attacks and especially by lowering my intelligence level when it comes to name calling !

I'm not asking for anyone to apologize nor am I singling anyone out.

All I want is for everyone to simmer down a bit and lets see the OP get his car fixed.

Alright, guys, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! It was diagnosed as a bad steering rack.

I took it in today and the mechanic and I went over it out in the parking lot since they wouldn't let me in the shop. I duplicated as he shimmied around. I then showed him all the different methods he could use to duplicate the sound and he took it around back. Twenty minutes later the service advisor approached me and told me they were able to trace the noise and gurgling to the rack. They contacted Ford to get the green light, a process they termed "hotlining". Ford's engineers spoke with the mechanics and authorized the replacement. They didn't have the rack in stock so I am now waiting for it to come in.

I feel vindicated with them. I wish we could have gotten it diagnosed sooner. I felt like my car was wounded and they just kept re-opening the wound to look around aimlessly. The cover around my column is kind of busted up from them going back into it so much, but what can you do?

I appreciate your support greatly these past few days. On Friday, I was so frustrated I literally started debating on just trading it in. When the first mechanic told me the gurgling I heard was simply the hydraulic fluid, I thought it was hopeless. Can you believe he said that? You guys let me vent which was rather cathartic, god knows my girlfriend appreciated it because she had heard it enough.

Let's hope this does the trick. The dealer originally said Ford would replace everything. But replacing just the rack is fine enough with me. They also apologized for taking so long to figure it out. I just hope there wasn't other factors as well.

Fastback, thanks for supporting me and lending an ear(or eye?). I've always thought forums were nerdy and I was too cool for it but I really feel like it's an a virtual group of knowledgeable friends whom I've never met.

Most people just skim through without ever lending some advice so the people who take a minute out of their lives to help someone they've never met is pretty cool.

Alright. Enough of my Oprah moment.

Haha I'm thinking about it but I just don't want to be a pain. Isn't weird how after you spend your hard earned money on a car and it fails you feel like you're bothering them and being a nuisance to them? Maybe I need to stop being so polite.

Al ! I had no idea whatsoever that you were just messing with me, but I was still in the wrong and overacted in which i shouldn't had allowed my frustrations to cloud my judgement like I did..

In the meantime, I'll be submitting a PM to Deysha to apologize to her for taking her post in the wrong way, and thanks to you and several other members, I now know that Deysha is just looking to help out to the best of her ability just as we all are..

Wilson ! Once again, I know what you're going through and nothing pleases me more than helping out a fellow Mustang enthusiast and friend in need..

And your absolutely right, this forum along with many others are a group of knowledgeable people who also become considered as friends

I sure hope they plan on replacing the cover that they damaged, especially after all the hell and frustration you've been through..

Hopefully as you said, this does the trick and there are no other problems..

Glad they found something. Figured once you duplicated it for the tech he could figure it out. Service advisors are pretty much ignorant. They listen well but have no idea what you're saying.

Congrats on the diagnosis and here's to hoping it fixes the problem for you. And yes, you should ask them to replace the column cover; I'm bet they would likely understand.
