Just wondering

I've been noticing that the thermometer reading for outside temps in my 13 mustang is way off. Shows hotter by 15 to 20 degrees sometimes.

Now I have the same thing in 12 focus and 06 freestar and they are accurate within 5 degrees.

wondering if anyone else has noticed this on their mustangs.

thought I might have read somewhere that this is an issue.

I know its minor, but still, if its supposed to work then it should, especially on a new car.

My previous truck and my current Mustang both read ~5 degrees warmer than actual.

^ Yup, I've been monitoring mine for several months. Mine reads 4 degrees C (>7F) low quite consistently, which is way too far off for even a dirt cheap temp sensor. I am comparing it with very good standard thermos, as well as pro-quality electronic (all 3 agree with each other within 1 degree). Oddly, my Mustang's does agree very consistently with another wet-bulb thermo. Did a web search a while ago and *I* didn't find mention of this being a problem. As you can tell I like to know the temp...

Edit: oh yeah, a '13 V6 premium (MCA) kinda like the OP's

Hey guys,

I recommend you bring your vehicles in to your Ford dealers and have them checked out. Then, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can escalate this to the customer service manager for your area.

Deysha, thank you

Thank You Deysha, but I have a very good dealership, and will just arrange for them to look at it. No need to at this time to go beyond the dealership.
