Having to say "Bluetooth Audio" every time - Ford Sync
Overall, I have few problems with Sync and find it to be a better system than comparable ones. For example, I tried to use the voice recognition in my Mom's 2013 Accord yesterday and had a lot of problems, plus it's far more limited than the 3+ year old system in my Mustang.
Yeah, there's always things we want to be better but for a system that has to accommodate hundreds of different devices, it works darn well.

Quite true. On my thumb drive I have a CD that contains the Organ Symphony by Saint-Saens. If you pronounce the composer's name the way the French do, she's lost. But if you pronounce it as an English speaker would (sort of) as Saint Sanes, she's fine. So you learn these things and move on.
Wow, how did I ever survive back when I had to turn the left **** clockwise to turn on the radio, then manually adjust the volume with the same ****, and then push one of the 6 center buttons to select a station? And all by hand?

I agree with you 100%; however, when I bought my Mustang, the cost of the SYNC system was included in the purchase price and it is under warranty, so it might as well work.
it does the same in mine. i have company blackberry sync'd and it always connects to bt audio n plays the default song whch is the only one file in the phone... then one time i switched off the music before i turned my keys off... it worked fine next day when i turned it on. ever since i made it a habit to turn off the music before i shut off... it works fine.
Same thing happens to me, but I figured it was just cause I didn't drive it enough (it's about 9 months old and only 2k miles on it). It only annoys me cause half the time, I never remember where the Bluetooth option was in the menus! LOL! So saying "Bluetooth Audio" every time is easier, but it would be nice if it just remembered the last source and kept it active. It does this for the radio and such, just not the BT audio.
It does this in our Mini too, but it's very random. Sometimes, my BT audio starts streaming right away when I get in the car, sometimes it defaults to another audio source. This is actually more frustrating than the Mustang! Especially since I drive it more often.

Mine had more to do with my phone. If I had a music player running on the phone either paused or playing BT audio kicked on. If I closed it then sync defaults to USB audio. I am driving a 2011 tho.
I have had a few problems with my SYNC to but it works better than the MYFORD TOUCH that came in my '12 Focus. That system is even worse. After driving for a few hours fighting with MFT I cant wait to get back to SYNC.

Hello everyone!
I’m jumping on this thread to help Jaclyn out. I’m Kim.
There is currently no option to switch the default source to Bluetooth audio from your SYNC system. Saying BLUETOOTH AUDIO will be the quickest way to stream music from your phone.
Hey Dan S and Tron,
If your phone is not being recognized as a Bluetooth audio device, remove the battery from your phone for about 30 seconds and replace it. This will improve your connection without deleting any settings on the radio. Here’s a link to some other great troubleshooting tips: http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...eshooting-sync
I suggest turning 911 Assist on, Dan S. If the airbag is deployed or the fuel pump is shut-off in the event of a crash, SYNC will attempt to contact emergency services through your paired phone. Here are the instructions to access this setting on the basic SYNC radio:
1. Press PHONE.
2. Scroll using the seek arrows until 911 Assist appears.
3. Press OK.
4. Use the seek arrows to toggle to ON.
5. Press OK.
If you are not interested in utilizing this feature, press OK after you see OFF in step 4. Scroll until SET OFF WITHOUT REMINDER appears, then hit OK. Keep in mind that this will still display a reminder on the screen, but will no longer provide one through voice.
What’s happening with your Focus, Matthew? I’m happy to help with troubleshooting!

Kim - I have a different question. I've got a 2011 Mustang w/ Sync (no navigation) and I'd like to turn off the voice prompts and just do the advanced mode (as I think it's called). Ironically, I can't figure out how to do that. Can I?
Press the voice command button on your steering wheel and say VOICE SETTINGS > INTERACTION MODE ADVANCED. This will cause Samantha to talk a little less, but you'll still hear the tone prompts.
You've probably noticed that she likes to ask questions to confirm your request. If you prefer not to hear these, push the voice command button and saying VOICE SETTINGS > CONFIRMATION PROMPTS OFF.
No problem! I'm glad I could help.

Kim
