Glass Roof delaminating

Just bought my 2012 GT with the panoramic roof. Car had 13 000 km on it.

Just noticed what looks like crystal pine branches on the edges of the glass all around it. At first I just thought that this is a design in the glass, but it is uneven. Checked with the dealer, and they say it is delaminating. I am in the process of trying to get them to change the glass under warranty.

Just a heads up on this issue.

Bizzarre. I'll have to keep an eye on mine. Never heard anyone else report this.

How could they possibly spin that so as to NOT replace it under warranty?

All I know is that the dealer is sending me to a windshield place this week to look at it and then they send the paper work to Ford. I'm pretty sure it will get done. Just thought I'd give a heads up to others of the potential issue here with the glass roof.

The 'pine branching' is not on the surface of the glass, but definitely in the glass.

Man, Ford is building some crappy cars with cheap materials. Everything from bubbling paint, crappy glass, seats wearing through, engines ticking, clutches. WOW. This may be my last Ford.

havent looked too hard at the competition have you? Ford has made leaps and bounds in making much better quality cars than they were 10 years ago, and certainly better than the competition. Parts fail, and the occasional bad car is made, that's just the industry, and probabilities. What you never hear is all the thousands of cars that perform perfectly for their owners.

You get a great meal, great service and you tell 2 friends...maybe?

Now you have a HORRIBLE meal and HORRIBLE service, you tweet about it, update your facebook status about it, instagram a picture of your HORRIBLE meal and tell anyone that will listen about how ****ty it was....

Same concept, you only hear the issues people don't post "YES!!! My 2012 mustang started and ran flawless today"

Also, my buddy has a 5th gen camaro that spun a rod bearing....dont buy GM

Dont forget about all the recalls on the new SRT-8....dont buy chrysler

You make 1,000,000 cars a year....issues happen.

Did not mean this to be a bash Ford thread. Just wanted others to be aware and check their roofs.

I'm quite happy about having my 2012, and the issue of the glass doesn't bother me as the warranty will take car of it. Problem solved.

Now if Ford doesn't fix it, then I may be a little put off ...

I swear I thought those were the tops of trees and some bird urine. That looks weird.

When I read your original post I did not see it as a Ford bashing post, just an FYI post. I don't have the glass roof, but we do have the panoramic roof in our 2013 Jeep GC, so this is something I will be on the look out for. I never thought about something like this happening. Very strange. Ford will most likely want that back in one piece so they can research it. Thanks for posting the photo.

Update:

New glass is installed. The old glass was sent to Ford to inspect. All under warranty.

Cheers
