Ford sync doesn't support the iPhone 7

That's what I'm being told at the dealership. The iPhone 7 isn't supported and I'm out of luck on a 2014 mustang that I bought new and only has 11850 miles on it. So what was the problem with the radio the 3 previous times I brought it in when I had an iPhone 6 and the radio had problems?

On top of that the voice recognition isn't working. This not a phone problem at all but the phone is the excuse not to work on it? This is crap. I take care of my stuff.

Sync works fine on my '13 GT and iPhone 7. Well, by fine, I mean no new bugs introduced when I upgraded from an iPhone 5S.

I think I have a bad radio and they just don't want to replace it for some reason.

Specifically, SYNC 4.6 doesn't work with iOS in that you cannot use Siri.

SYNC 4.2.1.T seemed to work along with SYNC 4.4. Which version do you have?

My 7 works fine on my 2014 with Electronics Package. I haven't updated Sync since I got the car...

If you're keeping your car don't update. You can never get your original software back.

If I'd known how problematic it was going to be, I'd have pulled my original SYNC module and updated a cheap one bought from eBay.

That's interesting

I've never updating any of my sync cars and I've never had a problem

That is way incorrect. Get a PM to Ford_IVT team on here and they should be able to help. I have an iPhone 7 and it works just like it should with my iPhone 7. As for the software updates, I've made them all and had no issues.

Wait. You have 4.6 and Siri still works? You're the first.

I have base Sync, no touchscreen, in my 2011. Didn't actually know using Siri was an option...

Just regular old Siri, not a special SYNC Siri.
Can you do me a favor? Away from your car, like maybe now, hold the home button and say something like "open Google maps". You should see the waveform move, the transcription appear on the screen and Google maps open. Close it. Next time you get in your car, turn it on and let your phone connect via Bluetooth. Once you know it's connected try asking Siri to open Google maps again. Can Siri hear you? Does Google Maps open?

Ehh, people have complained like that since it came out. Never had a problem myself so I don't put a lot of stock into most of that complaining.

Mark Zuckerberg probably tweeted it

Does MZ tweet? I guess that's like Henry Ford driving a Chevy.

Sorry for the delay - realized I'm not actually on 4.6 yet, and I can't get a Vehicle Health Report to run on my car so I can't get the update to work correctly either.

Thanks though. So if you'll miss that feature (using Siri at all from the phone while in the car) I suggest you do not update anyway. I'd rather save you from the pain than have my answer.
