First gear hang

I purchased my 2013 GT Premium on Monday. I put AM wheels on and a Roush axle back. I just took it out for a spin. The car was at operating temperature so I gave it some gas. The transmission dropped down to first gear and ran up to 7k rpm. It held at redline and started to backfire. I immediately let off and it still hung in first at redline. I pumped the gas pedal and it shifted and ran like normal. It did it again the very next light and has not happened since. I took it to where I bought it from but they do not have time to bring it in for at least 2 weeks. Keep in mind that the car has 100 total miles.

Hi GTStang50,

Welcome to the forum! My name is Deysha with Ford Service. You can bring your vehicle to any Ford dealership for diagnosis. Please make an appointment and PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can escalate this to the customer service manager for your area.

Deysha,

I appreciate the offer for help. I think I will just leave the car parked in my garage until the weather turns nicer. Last time I took my car in for service the left it outside for an extended period.
