Any other '12 owners having AdvanceTrac issues?

I've been having some trouble with my AdvanceTrac system in my '12 V6. Three times now I have gotten the ABS, Traction Control, and Traction Control Off lights pop up with "Service AdvanceTrac" also coming up in my message center.

The first two times this issue arose was after talking it to a car wash. Keep in mind though that this is a hand wash place, they don't have an arm that pulls the car through a drive through. Assuming it was that particular place, I stopped going there. Both times the lights and warning went away after a day or so.

However, the issue came up again this morning and I have not taken it to a car wash of any kind. It did rain significantly though yesterday and today and that makes me wonder if it is water-related, water possibly getting into an area of the vehicle and causing this malfunction?

Just wondering if anyone has come across this issue before?

Issue was resolved and I wanted to post what was wrong in case anyone else has this same issue.

The tech decided to check the speed sensor and TCS wiring underneath the hood cowl and noticed that there was some corrosion. After some investigating as to where it was coming from, he realized that my cabin air filter was completely full of water, to the point where the water was overflowing over the top and onto the speed sensor and TCS wiring underneath. This was causing them to sense a malfunction when there really wasn't any.

It turns out that the little rubber "drain" that allows the water from rain to come through the cowl and drain out under the engine was pinched shut. The bottom part of the rubber drain was almost melted together, as if it was still warm from the molding at the factory and it was pinched as it cooled. He separated the pinch, replaced the filter, and bypassed the corroded part of the wiring and so far I've had no issues at all.

All the traction control lights came on at once and caught me off guard - I checked again and they were off - I was cruising at 40 w/ no turning - strange. Only happened once on a clear day. Maybe they were bored!

nick_silver,

How long did it take for you to get the issue fixed? I had this happen to me with only 1900 miles on the car

About a month. But I was taking my Mustang in and out of the shop since it's my only vehicle. The problem was the cause wasn't something that they had ever seen before so it certainly took some digging to finally find that pinched drain.

I had this issue, it turns out there was something in the spare tire well of my trunk that was pinching wiring.

Anyone else had success from their dealer? I have been in three times so far and no success; the "Service AdvanceTrac" light keeps coming on at random times for about a minute. very annoying!
