911 assist of off...why?

I have 2 electonic annoyances with the new 2013.

1) The 911 assist warning.
Can it be turned OFF?

2) the low fuel warning comes on too eary. (but this has already been posted in a recent thread)

I know that in the new FORD MY SYNC.
There is actaully an option to prevent this warning.
but I can't seem to find it on the Mustangs SYNC?

Anyone know if there is a way to get rid of it? (besides turning assist ON)

Hey, CannonBaller -

Although I recommend having it on, you can definitely turn this feature off. Below are instructions for how to do this with both a standard radio and a navigation system.

Standard radio:

Press PHONE and use SEEK arrows to scroll to the following: SETTINGS > OK > 911 ASSIST > OK > OFF

Navigation:

Press PHONE and go through the following: SETTINGS > ADVANCED > 911 ASSIST > SET OFF W/O REMINDER

In regards to your fuel concerns, contact my counter part, Deysha. Her user name is: FordCustomerService.

No problem, CannonBaller, turning the reminder off is super easy!

Press the PHONE button and go through the following:

SETTINGS > ADVANCED > 911 ASSIST > SET OFF W/O REMINDER

Let me know if you have any questions.

Haha...can't believe I missed that.
Was looking in the wrong section.

now....is there an easy way to make the fuel warning come on at a later time? Say 30miles to E instead of 50?

thanks Jaclyn

No worries, CannonBaller. Distance to empty is calculated using a running average fuel economy, which is based on your recent driving history of 500 miles. This setting cannot be changed. LOW FUEL LEVEL will display when you have approximately 50 miles to empty. Press RESET to clear this warning message. It will return at approximately 25, 10, and 0 miles to empty.

"0 miles to empty". That just strikes me as funny. I'm wondering if the programming team had to use some restraint in not changing the message at that point.

I can't speculate as to why they use that wording, I pulled the information from your Owner's Manual:

That's correct, CannonBaller, you'll no longer hear the audio reminder, but by law, this message will display each time the vehicle is started.

Are you sure you don't want to turn it on?

hi all

I got a 2012 mustang without the navigation. it is strange, I am pretty sure that shortly after I took delivery of the car either myself or my dealer was able to switch not only the voice reminder but also the display message off permanently.
I am in switzerland and so I don't need this function at all since it's not working (supported) here.
however, at some point I had to reset the system cause many songs of the USB device were not recognized anymore. since resetting it, it always appears again.

If that's the case...then that means there must be a service mode on the unit. Either through some kind of keycode or button combo.

Jaclyn, would you know how to get into hidden functions on the Nav?

The engineering mode is intended for dealership use only, I don't even know how to unlock it. Keep in mind, modification, alterations, or tampering of the vehicle and/or system can result in voiding your New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

I have a 2014 Mustang Premium Convertible without 911 Assist. I get the warning every time that it's not turned on, but there is no sign of 911 Assist in the menu system. Please help. Thanks
