2014 had hood painted

I was at my dealer a few weeks ago and had them look at my hood. They found the issues underneath and said they will paint the hood to fix the issue.

Great at least I did not have to demand this. They painted the hood and now I have worse issues. Can anyone tell me if there hood is clear coated and finished on the inside?

My car is Ruby Red and they painted it but did not clear it. They tell me that is how it should of come from the factory... Well no I don't think so.

Also there are a couple of spots on the hood you can only see at night ( I really dont understand ) They look like round dots with not metal flake...

No, the underside of the hood is not cleared. The top is though. Not sure what's up with the dots.

berserk 1980 is right. No clear coat on the inside of the hood. Maybe the 'type' of lighting is making the spots show up?

What driving me crazy is the trunk has a some what shiny finish but the hood does not.

If they confess to not clearing the top of the hood they need to fix that. I think modern paints require clear coat.

Maybe get another body shop to vouch for you?

After more thought...

Now if they do claim to have cleared it, then it may just be a crappy detail. Ask them if it needs to be wet sanded and buffed again.

Then the red spots... That sure sounds like paint imperfection. But Ruby Red has a tinted clear coat... Maybe you're seeing high spots in the clear coat? The wet sand and buff would fix that.

Its really crazy. In the sun you can not see any issues. In my garage with my lift above and the lights I have under the lift it sticks out. In a dark day you can see it. I have never seen anything like this. If you run your hand over it you can not feel anything..
