Update
I am working with AM/Bama, requesting the initial service record through Ford via demand letter, and the 5.0 was pulled from car last Friday to assess the extent of the damage. The worst-case but likely scenario is short block replacement. The AM team has been good but have not heard from them in 4 days as I wait for the detail from Ford. I'll keep the forum updated.

My local Ford dealer called Tuesday and based on the Ford Engineer's second assessment of the motor after it was pulled is that Ford is reinstating the warranty and replacing the motor. This is a huge relief although there is no explanation of the failure. Quite frankly, I am not asking. It will take more than a month but Ford, American Muscle and my local dealer have all been very good to work with.

The new motor is in and she is running better than ever. The service manager showed me the torn down block. Nothing was visibly broken but the cylinder and valve heads had black, charred surfaces and heavy deposits. The dealer is bolting the short block back together and sending it to Ford. Again, I am not going to dig for root cause. Ford owned up to the "issue" and took responsibility. There is no blame to be cast at AM or Bama either. Word to the wise though is to know Ford has the ability to check for tunes/mods and "can" deny warranty. Just know what you are getting into before making mods and understand the potential headaches. I've learned that if I want 500hp, than buy a Cobra. For me, H&R Springs and Flowmaster Hushpower compliment my sweet factory 5.0 and best of all, my warranty is intact so I sleep better at night and dream of my killer, all black, glass roof pony car.

If so, that shows the only documented #8 failure (with pics) on TMS by a tuner was by Brenspeed. Who didn't stand behind it - according to unas2k5.
Not AM/Bama, not Lund, not Steeda tunes.
** Brenspeed and I don't know if they modified them [knock sensors] or not but they've had the same exact tune and have never updated it like other tuners** Brenspeed does not care and doesn't want to make it right**
