Sweet. just need programming correct? What model year car did this come out of?

Is there a reason you wanted the factory unit?? 600.00 could get you a pretty good to great after market unit.

I got this out of a 2010. 2012 nav cars use a different amp, so I may need to get that as well.

As for programming, I don't know yet. Maybe not. I'm pretty much pioneering this along with Yellow302.

Keep you all posted, but it may be a little while before I get the rest of what I need.

11shelbygt500, as for why I'm doing this, there is just no way I can get an aftermarket unit and the bezel for $1000or under. The new Alpine and teh bezel will cost me $2000. And this will retain SYNC and look better too. The screen sits up top where it should be with the OEM set-up.

After calling them, looks like they forgot to send me the faceplate/bezel with the AC/radio controls. They are sending that to me. Only thing I need now is the proper wiring harness and I'm good to go.

I'm thinking about going down the road you are. I already have the HU and display. We know from another thread that just plugging in the Nav faceplate on its own does not work completely. What would happen if you plugged in the nav faceplate with the HU and display? Would it work with some tinkering or do we have to do the harness swap? I could care less about the dual climate zones.

I'm pretty certain you need the heater control module, but am not sure. I might try it this weekend.

I'm still waiting on 3 pieces - the bezel, the heater control module and the proper dash harness. The harness I have is from a 2010 nav car. I have a 2012.

Once I have everything I will put it all together.

All I can say for sure right now is that Yellow302 put it all in and it works for him, except that the dual climate control. His hot/cold buttons are reversed. He was going to have it programmed. Haven't heard back from him yet on if that corrected it.

I would also rather not have to change out the harness. That will be a huge pain in the a$$. But when I've done these things in the past, I've noticed that on the plug ins, if a pin is not used, then the female plug will not have the pin receptor for it. When retrofitting to something that then does use that pin, then the proper harness is needed, or you would have to put in the female pin receptor yourself and wire it up as well.

I've gone done that road, and just getting the proper harness would be easier.

I'm still waitng for some parts. I can't do anything until I have those. And I'm unwilling to purchase the parts new at this time.

Finally got the panel. I'll do some tinkering tomorrow, but I still need the heater module and the right harness.

Update:

I installed what I have, but I am still needing a dash harness, amps and the heater control module.

The panel had pwer and lit up. The radio worked, but the volume was really low, but bass was normal. I figure it is because I need the amps. I could not hear sync come on, but it was hard to hear.

The screen did not power up. Might be due to the plug in. The current plug has 4 wires, while the nav requires 6.

The screen takes an extra plug, and the ACM takes another 3 plugs not provided for in the current dash harness.

Also, the climate control would not work properly. Need the nav heater control module (locared behind the display screen).

No matter what, the proper dash harness is needed and amps. The dash will have to come out for this. Nothing new for me, but it will be something I tackle later on. Maybe not even until the spring.

Its good to know you can do this in steps.. that harness swap sounds absolutely awful though.

Its not difficult, but you would need a whole day to do this, certainly. For now, I put the old rasio and faceplate back in.

Great job so far Jim!! I think I'm going to go down this road too. I already have the HU and screen. I just need to gather all the other parts, more importantly, the right parts. Do you need to install sensors for the dual climate or is that in the module?
