Sync Question

Is there a way to change the default on the radio? When i turn the radio on it defaults to line in, even if i have the sync USB hooked up or used bluetooth as my last sources. Is there any way to make it to where it defaults to either last used source, or say bluetooth? I can change it every time. I've been doing it for a year now, but i'd like to think i shouldn't have to.

I have found that if I turn the key quickly all the way to Start, the radio comes up on FM Radio (I rarely listen to AM). This is true even if I was last listening to music from my USB thumb drive, which is usually the case. However, if I turn the key to position 1 and then to position 2 and then to start with slight pauses between each position the system has the time to power up and recognize the presence of a USB device and it comes on playing the music I was listening to when I shut it down. I know of no way to set a default, but I have just gotten used to my work around.

Hi clucas,

I can confirm that there are no settings within the SYNC system which will allow a default source to be selected. The quickest way to switch sources is by using voice commands: http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...-by-voice-sync

Why is this? Who made that decision?

I suspect that was an oversight rather than a conscious decision.

Mine will default to the option I last used maybe 8 out of 10 times. Usually that's USB1 or USB2. When it decides to brain fart, then it ends up on Line In for no reason.

I'm unable to speculate. Other owners have shown interested in this as well. I encourage you to vote on the idea here: http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/te...nput-defaults/ Our product development team looks through these ideas for inspiration.

Sorry that you all are having this issue. My 2011 defaults to the last source used, works fine. Strange...

My '14 GT almost always defaults to the iPod if the iPod was running when I turned off the car. Lately, I've been using Pandora via Bluetooth, and of course it does not default to that...

I really wish I could get the climate controls to default to recirculate. I've gotten to where I automatically hit the recirc button- but occasionally I forget.

well, i really didn't think that it was possible. I just didn't know if someone found some way to make it work. I'll just continue hitting the buttons.

My 13 always defaults to the last used input (fm, am, aux, etc) but it will always go line in as well even if last used was Bluetooth.

I'm 100% sure my car also defaults to the last input, especially when I was on AM/FM. I think I have issues with line in/aux depending on how long the car has been off.

Anyone figured out the trick to get the 911 reminder that takes over the whole system anywhere from 10 sec to a few mins into each startup ?

Even when 911 is disabled you get the reminders and it can come while on a phone conversation, cutting me off.

I set my iPhone 5 up with
Bluetooth.
- Set it as a primary phone.
- Downloaded the phone book.
- Turned on 911 assist.

I start my car up and I don't get any of that "911 assist is set to off" alerts.

Hope that helps.

Hi ctodd1,

I remember your PM from last week about this. I'm glad you were able to get it resolved.
