Sync Like alternative for a non Sync Mustang

I was going to upgrade my base system w/o sync to a shaker 1000 with sync but with all the issues with replacing the dash harness and the body harness I think I will be going with a Kenwood Excelon DNN992 head unit with an Idatalink Maestro RR with the Mus1 face plate pushing some Rockford Fosgate speakers through a Rockford Fosgate amp

the nice thing is I will be able use the Maestro RR to control the HVAC through the radio interface
found a video on it here

Has anyone used a Kenwood with the Maestro RR?

The Faceplate "Mus1" http://maestro.idatalink.com/accesso...product_id/285
The Maestro RR http://maestro.idatalink.com/product...product_id/102

Thoughts???

Looks like a very interesting setup. I like the concept. Will be watching for your write-up on the install and your thoughts on the results.

I think there is at least one writeup somewhere of someone who did this already.
