STOP what your doing right now and
I also own a nissan rogue (wife's car) with the bose sound... that is an amazing system, stock shaker was muddy and very poor before I upgraded the front speakers (it's still nothing like my wife's car, but it's better).

true.. if you like sound you want quality.. a young kid doesnt care if its clear.. they just want loud and the stock shaker speakers can do that. I am selling two pairs of infinity 6x8 with plug and play adapters.
This is the door speakers setup on the shaker systems right?
Ones on bottom are in the doors?
Another question I have is this. Those bottom speakers are currently components right? If I just put average speakers in there they wouldn't be as good as if I were to put aftermarket components in there right?

Naw, it's definitely muddy. The only music that sounds really good is classic rock. I think thats the only music the guy that designed the Shaker system listened to.

It's all in one's priorities. I had an in-car CD player & multiple woofers-n-watts back in 1985, used to sell the stuff. I think Pioneer still makes a great-sounding speaker for the money and in fact just added them to my '91 Legend. But I have to say that the current Shaker 500 is "good enough" to this old timer that modding it was lower priority - for me.
Those pics linked above comparing the stock speakers to those Pioneers actually impressed me in how nice the stock speakers are and how far we've come in 30 years in stock radios. Take a look at what factory radio speakers looked like 30+ years ago - not even close to today's stock stuff.
All that said, I LOVE bang-for-the-buck mods and must agree that those Pioneers are a nice upgrade for the $ required. The stock front spkrs do lack high-end response. Just trying to explain where some of us old farts are coming from when we say we kind of like the stock Shaker system as-is.
Now, let's all play nice...
My question is this: Won't aftermarket 5 1/4" components be a direct drop-in to the stock bracket, which is already holding a 5.25" mid and 1" tweeter? Or are the stock speakers somehow permanently bonded to those stock brackets in a way that doesn't let them be re-used?
Still car shopping, but yeah, I'm pretty sure the Sh. 500 front door speakers (not lower woofer) are components, exactly as your picture shows.

From what I've read (and I haven't dug into it much), no on the 2013 aftermarkets won't fit in the bracket and you have to make your own or use one from an older model mustang.
