STOP what your doing right now and

Order a replacement set of front door speakers for your Shaker 500 system. Sorry for starting another speaker thread but me and a friend just got done swapping out the front speakers and could not stop laughing HOW CRAPPY the stock speakers are. My iPhone weighs more then one speaker, I swear they felt like a plastic model kit. Oh yah I was bust today, oil change at my local dealer, resonator delete from my local exhaust guy and to finish the day off some window tint.

Crap I threw them out, trust me use to build model cars and those felt more solid then the factory speakers. For a car that retails for around $38000,00 depending on options Ford should of done better with the speaker.

Here is a link with the factory ones and the same set I bought after reading this post.

Quick question guys, are Kenwood speakers any good anymore? Or are Pioneer just better these days?

Oh yeah, I pulled the speakers out of my 11 about 6 months after I got her and I couldn't believe the level of crap they were. The back ones aren't much better either, but at least they're heavier LOL.

You need to get an adapter harness to plug them in, basically gives you the plug and the 2 wire spade connectors to go on the pioneers (or any other speaker for that matter)

It's common knowledge that speakers are your first mod.

Sorry, you've been hanging out in the wrong corner. Shifter is the first mod or tint followed quickly by shifter.

That is - if you are under 25 years old and focused on volume over quality.

At 43 years old, the Shaker 500 sound is fine for me and puts this mod down about 54,143,383,543th on the list of things to do...

If you like music then speakers are up there in the list. Specially if its a DD. My dads first mod on every single one of his cars/trucks is to rip out the stock sound system and put in a few grand worth of audio stuff. He used to be a musician though so I suppose that's the reason behind it.

I love music, it's a daily driver, the stock speakers play the music just fine. IMO

I agree. You really do have to hear the difference. I don't pump my music up or anything. Classical or jazz ESPECIALLY sounds well.

to each his own - he wants speakers first - that's fine. I did speakers first as I didn't want to mod anything else for at least 6 months. I'm now at 6 months and next year (feb at the latest) will be the boss 302 quad exhaust with gt500 AB's. A new shifter will be either before or after but will be done. I also need to disable skip shift as that is beginning to really irritate me...

First mod on mine was the Redline Hood Struts before the hood prop could leave a nice line across the plastic, 2nd was the Hoen Fog light bulbs, then the tint
Mine is actually in the shop at Ford getting the right front speaker replaced right now (it was blown when I picked the car up at the second dealership it had been at, so the transporter liked something loud), if the second one can't pass the Ina-Gadda-Da-Vida test then they will be replaced with some Infinity or Polks.
