Shaker Stero in Base V6

Hi Friends,

I have a person who is parting out his car and is willing to sell his full Shaker audio setup. I have a 2013 V6 Base radio with no sync. Will this be a bolt on setup in a base v6?
Thanks for the help in advance

Not unless you get all the wiring guts for the shaker radio too.(I'm assuming this is the shaker 1000). The base stereo doesn't come with hook ups for the rear amps/subs.

Sounds like too much of a hassle just to get Shaker system into a base. In that case, I would rather upgrade my current set up rather than swapping a Shaker system.

Thanks for the advice 05PRMTX!!

No Problem! I'm in the same boat with the base stereo. Unless you were going to get a really good deal on the shaker system just go aftermarket. It's easier, cheaper, and you will have better sound in the end anyways. As an audio nut, the only thing I would want from the shaker is the door panels lol

I have shaker and its not all that great. Its better than basic but it has muddy bass and not as much clarity as a decent aftermarket setup.

I put a 2013 Shaker Radio head unit in my 2013 base Mustang and only noticed the Satellite tuner option as a advantage. (It is supposed to give you mp3 capability too that I have not yet verified)

I only changed the head unit which utilized my existing plugs behind the dash. There is a center plug for the amps that I have not yet tried to use.

Everything works perfectly even with steering wheel controls except that you might lose the AUX button line input.

In the premium radio that comes with Sync, the line input goes through the Sync module.

By adding a Sync module to a 2013 base Mustang, you can get features of Sync and the line input working again with the upgraded Shaker head unit.

Does anyone know how I could add a Satellite Antenna to this head unit? It seems like it takes a special antenna only and the Ford part numbers for it are kind of expensive even on E-Bay
