Seat belt wear on cloth Recaro seats at 11k miles?
So I've had my car for 10 months and have thoroughly enjoyed every mile siting in the Recaros. I have just started to notice an issue. Some of it is wear (fabric fray) and some is something else, maybe dirt of some sort. I'm wondering what I might be able to do about it since I'm in Germany if it would be considered outside of normal wear. I have just over 11 thousand miles on the car.

Normal wear from resting your arm on that spot as you lift yourself out. This area and the lower seat bolster are impacted the most.
My wife has similar material seats and I discovered that white residue on both sides of the seat. Turned out to be deodorant on one side and general wear on the other.
You can clean that easily.

I'm not so much worried about the dirt as I'm capable of getting that out just fine. I'm more worried about the wear of the seat fabric from the seatbelt rubbing on it.
I don't rest my arm behind my head while I'm driving. I'm going to take a better picture of the fabric wear once I clean the seat.

Wow never realized that it just rubs right there, I'd say that's clearly something that's ford fault but nothing you can really do unless you get some race seat belts to go through the holes

I meant resting you arm for support as you get out. It's difficult for me to get out of the car without using the side bolster as support.
Or seatbelt wear as you described. Either way, those seats aren't holding up well.

I see mine being replaced under warranty at least once due to the same wear. It's just a matter of the cloth seat. Leather would've been a better choice, but in a sport seat, I feel cloth is better at holding you in.
You could also do a 6 point harness and wouldn't have this issue.

This is seatbelt wear and is happening to all the BOSS cars with Recaros. I have had two BOSS' and wear starts to show at about 2,000 miles and just keeps getting worse. You can get warranty in the first year but it doesn't matter because the new material will do it as well.

I will eventually get a rear bar and 5 point harnesses but until then it's going to annoy me. I didn't want the leather specifically so I wouldn't slide around while I'm hitting the twisty roads. It's a seat that's meant to hold you in not just look good while you slide around. A seat belt pad might do the trick as well until I can do the bar and harness. At least then the seatbelt will be sliding around inside the pad and not on the seat. I'm not keen on gangster leaning with my seat way back while I drive my performance car either. I will leave that to the guys in the Hippity Hop music videos...

My driver seat is starting to show some wear on the outer bolster, and the same white residue on the side of the seat.
13,500 miles on the car, 11 months old.
I don't buckle up that much so I don't think the seatbelt is doing it

I'm sure the seatbelt is doing it Gabe. Buckle the belt and see where it touches the seat. I have never had a car do this with any fabric I have ever had in a car. I'm going to see what they say once I find a suitable dealership that can do warranty repairs.

Lets pretend like I know how long my legs are and how to adjust my seat to get the best driving position for ME. Holy crap some people and their idiotic sense of entitlement in what other people should do. Especially on the freaking Internet.
