Some lessons learned and things to do leftover:
- left buttons and right buttons seem to have a very close resistive value so both sides do the same thing. They will need to go on a different SWC channel instead of how the harness has them joined to the blue line OR add a resistor in front of the left buttons to change the value slightly
- cruise control buttons don't work just yet. I have a plan for those that involves the old button boards from an 05-09 connected directly to each button of the CC side
- phone buttons work, kinda. Seems like phone up and phone down have the same value as the other two (channel 3) so I will need to add another resistor there as well
- airbag connectors - I took apart the connectors from a newer clock spring, and was able to use the wiring from 05-09 by just getting them in the new connectors. No need to cut wires etc
- horn, works as well

Current wiring setup:
- blue line (channel 1) goes to SWC1
- orange, green and brown go to SWC2
- black, red and purple go to the grown wire on the clockspring (together with the black wire from horn wires)
- white wire from horn goes to the horn wire of clockspring
- yellow goes to backlight on clockspring

I need to order a few resistors and I should have all media buttons working soon! In the meantime... enjoy the picture below! This will go VERY well with the 2014 dashboard that I have in progress with a custom center cluster that uses the 05-09 AC controls, 05-09 gauges with a 2014 lens and indicators and 2014 headlight switches. THAT will be an even more fun of a project!

very nice. glad to see someone else doing it. did you connect the airbag also?

Because I have aftermarket stereo, the whole wiring was 10x easier than yours

Update:
I used a 1K Ohm resistor for left side and for channel 3 on the phone cluster. I got 3/5 buttons working on the left side with the other 2 repeating so I will have to adjust that resistor value and should get the other 2 working as well.
The phone side, needs a bit more work. Similar effect as on the left cluster. Progress though I now have 3 more buttons I can use...

bogdi1988 Dang, I really wish yours was a 11-14, that would mean that mine could work with the newer wheel.

Sorry everyone but no real updates. Just been trying to figure if I could use the 15-20 sccm but I could only make the wiper work well just the high speed nothing in between.

here is a video of the wheel and buttons.

I hv a 14 gt premium w/trackpack, I asked a couple wrenches in my area they never heard of the swap. Glad to see your pioneering I was wondering if u could just swap out the telescoping shaft and leave all other stuff stock if it would work

I know you said you were unable to keep the column last due to fitment. However, when you swapped the column did you get tilt and telescope functions? Any issues with you security chip in your keys? Is the fitment issue some that can be dealt with by creating a hybrid column of sorts? Keeping the S197 mount and just swap the S550 upper mechanism that attaches to the wheel?

As of right know I have been looking at each shafts and each one looks to be identical but I can't find a cheap one here In Hawaii. I would think it would bolt up.

I haven't been able to do anything else with the switches as I'm stuck on how to do it. I have another project I'm trying to do which is another headache. Installing a sync3 unit lol

I didnt have the column just the multifunction switch housing/sccm it fits its just the column covers wouldn't fit i think. If I can get a cheap one I'll be the guinea pig lol.

the switch housing fits on our s197 column so im thinking that the s197 switch housing would be able to fit on a s550 column.

I have been toying with the idea of swapping sync 3 but zero idea of where to start lol eagerly awaiting to see where you go

The mounting for the 14 to the 15 column is completely different, im sure it could be done, not real easy though.
The shafts are the same, it would just be the mounting points in the dash that make it difficult
